Chapter 15 (re-write)

Started re-writing on June 4th 2022

This is one of the things I wish I had wrote in the original, a wedding chapter!!

Shouta would admit to no one that his hands were shaking. He would admit it to no one that he was nervous. He'd known Hizashi for almost 10 years now. He wouldn't judge him if he ever did admit he was nervous.

"Shouta?" Shouta shoved his hands into his pant pockets. He turns around to see Nemuri smiling at him. "How are you feeling?"

"You don't have to look so worried Nem. I'm marrying my best friend. No big deal,"

"You can be nervous about this you know," Shouta tries to smile. His shoulders shake now.

"I just hope I can be a good husband you know,"

"Well you're already an amazing father and you have always been his best friend. He's accepted every single one of your flaws before, he'll do it all again. For you." Nemuri wraps in a hug. Shouta's hands slip from his pockets before he wraps them around her. (If he squeezed a little tight then Nemuri says nothing).

Iruka walks with Nemuri and tosses flower petals all along the blue carpet. She sees uncle Tensei, Izuku and Tenya (whom she had only seen pictures of before) in the front waiting for them. There's also another man standing there. She's met him once or twice. Nemuri leads her to the other side of the man. The said Uncle Ten isn't on.

She looked over all the people that came. Some she didn't recognise, others she knew intimately. Nezu sat in the front row, Inko as well. There was one chair that, even though everywhere else was filled, was empty. Iruka wonders if that's a wedding thing.

Music starts to play. It's one of her parents' favourite songs. Iruka sways where she stands. The doors she had just walked out of not long ago open once again, revealing Shouta and her Amee Toa. He looked down at the carpet as Toa slowly led him towards the front. Once Shouta was standing at the altar, Hizashi was led down the carpet by Raburi.

Iruka watched her parent's raised their heads. Hizashi stood on her side so she got a better view of Shouta. She'd never seen Shouta cry before. He was smiling as he cried. They were happy tears just like Izuku's were sometimes. Shouta wipes the tear before it falls down his face before the man in the front speaks. Iruka doesn't fully understand what he's saying. He stops. Hizashi speaks,

"Aizawa Shouta. You are my partner, lover, and best friend for years and for years to come, I wish to cherish you, love you, and care for you. You, who I wish to walk the rest of my life next to. You, who I wish to spend every waking and every dreaming hour with. I promise to you today to be your eternal companion and aid you in every way I can, even when I can't." Iruka worries that her dad will cry more. She's worried her papa said the wrong thing. She looks at Nemuri and Tensei and their smiling.

Iruka something on her nose. It's wet and light. She looks up to see if it's raining. White little dots come down instead. She's seen these in some movies and books. It's snowing.

"Hizashi Yamada. From the day we met you had always been a blinding light. In my darkest days you were my sun. When I was lost you were a guiding star. On this day I pledge to you my love, my support and my loyalty. To you, the man I would cross the galaxy for. To you, my partner in life and love. To you, my eternal companion whom I will walk side by side with even after forever."

Iruka doesn't hear what the man in the front says. She sees Tenya walking over to her parents holding a pillow with something shiny on top. She watches as Shouta delicately pick up the shiny object and slides it onto Hizashi's finger. Hizashi does the same. They hold each other's hands. Shouta looks at Hizashi like he created the world. Hizashi brings up his hand to cup Shouta's face and ever so delicately, they kiss.

Their guests cheered. Iruka cheered with them. The newly wedding couple move away and look at the crowd. Both of them with tears in their eyes (Hizashi may have makeup running down his face). They look to their best friends on either side of them. Then they look at Iruka. They hold out a hand for her. She happily rushes in for a hug.

Iruka happily babbles with Izuku at their table. Hizashi and Shouta greet their guests and get congratulated. Tensei came over to the two kids and introduced Tenya. He's awkward and confused but they somehow get into a rhythm of dialogue.

Nemuri looks around the venue. Most of the guests are their co-workers, save for the Midoriya's and the Iida's. Nemuri sat in the front table where the newly wedded couple would be eating. On the other side of the table were Toa and Raburi Yamada. Next to her was an empty chair. Nemuri doesn't think it's empty.

"I hope you're watching Shirakumo because you owe me 1000 Yen for this,"

I am an absolute sucker for Shirakumo feels. Don't worry if you don't know him, you'll find out soon enough unless you've guessed that is. Also I am an absolute sucker for the wedding vows. What do you think of them?

Sorry this week's chapter is late, tough week y'know?

Anyways I thought I'd give you an early heads up for once. I'm taking a break from posting completely in August due to midterms and since it's my final year I really gotta focus on exams.
