Chapter 50

"You've got an entire weekend to yourself Listener, any plans?"

A whole weekend before they went back to school. 2 days didn't sound like a lot but when you're a hero student that basically gets attacked every other week you tend to want as much rest as you can get. Iruka thought about it for a bit to conclude she didn't really have anything to do.

"I hope you aren't too tired because I've got plans for us." Hizashi chimed to Iruka's obvious confusion. "Nothing too tiring I promise. Just getting together for some dinner with friends is all."

Iruka hummed. It'd be nice to see her parent's friends. Though of course, she saw their colleagues on a daily but she missed seeing her Aunt Emi.

"Who's it gonna be with?"

"Ems is going, I'm sure Nemu will too. Oh invite Tenya, I'm sure he'd love to hang out with his brother."

"Uncle Tensei is out of the hospital?" When it was first announced that Tensei was in the hospital Iruka heard it from the news before anyone else and sure she wasn't mad at Tenya for keeping it a secret but she was bothered her parents kept it from her.

Tensei was one of Hizashi and Shota's mutual friend that they made when they all had only started their pro hero careers.

"Sorta. His doctor said he should get some fresh air. It'll be good for him." Iruka nodded and decided to text Tenya. Heh it'd be fun to see him surprised she knew Tensei so well.

Growing up Iruka would always hear stories from Tensei about his little brother. She'd never met Tenya when they were little mostly because it was very brief meetings they'd have around the city but also because Tenya was oddly a very busy child. She understood now of course that the Iida family were very business-oriented.

Hey Iida are you coming to the dinner with your brother?

Ito, I don't think I should as he is going out with his friends.
Though it bothers me greatly that you even know about that dinner

Ya well don't be to freaked
Also you should definitely go, it'll be a nice way to relax after our long week

As much as I enjoy my brother's company I do not want to disrupt his time with his friends.

Iruka sighed. Tenya had good intentions of course but as Katsuki put it, "He always had a stick up his ass". She didn't want to pester him further so she dropped the topic and instead decided to ponder on what she should wear.

"Iruka! How's my favourite prankster?" Emi asked attacking Iruka with a big panda hug.

"'m doin 'ood." Iruka muffled out.

"Good? That doesn't sound right, you've gotta be doing amazing Sunshine. You're 16 now. How is that not exciting?"

"Oh." The dinner isn't just some friend get together, is it?

"Come on Ems, pester her inside with the others," Hizashi suggested, tossing his hand over Emi's shoulders. The two walked in laughing about something with Shota and Iruka lagging behind.

A waiter directed them to a secluded booth in the back of the restaurant where Tensei, Nemuri and Hina were chatting away.

"Aww our birthday girl is here!" Nemuri giggled as Iruka hugged the three.

"Way to ruin a surprise Nemuri." Shota muttered as he sat down. Nemuri gave him a little tch as she fawned over Iruka.

Little by little more friends came by. All the girls dragged Iruka into a girls circle on one side of the table where Mirai and Fleur braided Iruka's hair. On the other side of the table, Hizashi and Tensei were shoving chips and salsa down their mouths as best they can without spilling it all everywhere. Sekijiro making sure neither of them chokes while Shota watches dissaprovingly.
