"Hey Shinso, do you think your quirk works with sign language?"
"No I don't think it does, want to try?" They had only a few days left until the sports festival. Everyday for almost 2 weeks both Hitoshi and Iruka had trained before and after school. Often times training hand-to-hand after school.
During this time Iruka had also been slowly teaching Hitoshi sign language. He was curious as to how Iruka knew it so well but she wouldn't tell. Hitoshi asked Iruka a simple question and when given a reply in sign nothing happened.
"Guess it has to be a vocal response." Iruka sighed.
"Shouldn't you two be heading to class?" Shota asked. It was rare for him to loiter around after morning training but to say he wasn't curious about the possibilities of Hitoshi's quirk would be an understatement. He found it rather intriguing. "Don't forget about later's training."
"We never do. See you then Aizawa sensei." Hitoshi waved at the man. He'd been opening up more, though still very reserved in classes he was fairly social with Shota and a few members of 1-A.

The bell had just rung and Iruka was about to go find Hitoshi when she noticed a crowd outside the door.
"What is everyone doing here?" She questioned, looking around. Some of the people there she recognised as members of class 1-B and 1-C.
"They're scouting the competition because we're the students that survived a villain attack." Katsuki scoffed. "But I ain't here to be gawked at so move it extras." He tried to push through but was wacked in the head.
"Don't go calling people names Kacchan." Iruka scolded. She looked around trying to find a way to get out.
"Do all of you act this snobby or is it just the ones that think they're going to win?" A blond from 1-B asked.
"Huh? I'll win the sports festival and I'll leave all of you in the dirt." Katsuki looked ready for a fight and Iruka knew someone had to do something and fast.
"Ok ok that's enough. I don't know why all of you decided to block our way out but some of us have a train to catch and if you don't move right now I'm jumping out that window." Iruka said, pointing towards the open window. Some of them looked surprised and others looked rather worried. Luckily they got the hint that she wasn't joking and moved out of the way.
============
"Hey you ok kid?" Shota asked the stupid question. Of course she wasn't ok, today was the day of the sports festival and Iruka wasn't one for crowds.
"F-fine, just ner-nerves is all." Iruka sputtered out. Even after training so hard she still wasn't ready, not even close to it. She's felt nervous but never this nervous. It's probably because the damn world would be waiting.
"Well if you need anything and I mean anything at all, we'll be in the announcer's booth." Hizashi spoke out. Sure he didn't show it but he was pretty worried about Iruka's mental health at this point. She almost looked like she was sweating bullets but in reality she wasn't.
"I still wonder how Nezu let you become the announcer, especially after that one time a student complained about how their ears were bleeding off." Iruka laughed.
"That's pretty much the only reason why I'll be in the announcer booth." Shota sighed. "To keep him in check." All it took was the small joke for Iruka to burst into a fit of giggles. Hizashi and Shota smiled, at least she didn't look ready to crawl into a pit and die anymore.
"I think I should get going, Kacchan promised to do my hair in braids today." As bad as Iruka was at doing her own hair she absolutely loved getting it styled, specifically by Katsuki. The blond was just good at too many things.
