Part 14: Rain

Wednesday, December 15th

I wake up to Sapnap towering over me, kicking my leg lightly.

I look to my right, and find that George isn't there anymore.

When did he leave?

Sapnap's voice suddenly rings through my ears.

"Dude, did you sleep outside?"

I sit up slowly, and rub my temples. "Maybe."

"It's like 3 degrees, dude."

He holds his hand out, and I take it.

He helps me to my feet.

"You're lucky it didn't rain." Solicitude is laced in his voice, and I wrap my arm around his shoulders.

"I'm fine, Sapnap. My room was just hot and I wanted to cool down so I came outside, and then I got tired."

We walk back inside the house, and Sapnap sits down at the kitchen island.

I walk to the other side and grab a pan from inside a cabinet.

I grab cooking spray, and take some eggs out of the fridge. "Have you and George done anything today?"

He looks up from his phone. "Nah, I came downstairs to get something for breakfast and saw you just laying outside. Thought you fainted or something, dude."

I chuckle lightly, spraying the pan. "You should try sleeping outside once, it's surprisingly comfortable."

I look up to find a disgusted expression on his face. "I'm not fucking weird like you, dude."

I smile, and place the pan back on the stove as I turn it up.

I crack two eggs in the pan and throw the shells in the trash.

"Okay, so I have an idea." Sapnap says. I look back and nod for him to continue as the eggs cook.

"What if, and hear me out, George lived with us for the next week?"

I chuckle. "Are you just gonna keep extending his visit? You know he has a family he lives with, right?"

Sapnap purses his lips. "It's just a week."

"He's already slept here for two nights."

He tries to counteract my point. "Only two nights. Another week would make it nine in total. It's not that long."

I sigh. "You know he has a job too, right? But if you really want to, we can discuss it with him."

A grin finds its way on his face. "Bet."

After a few more minutes of talking about random shit, George finally descends the stairs.

He walks into the kitchen, hair wet. He's wearing light grey sweatpants with a black shirt.

"Georgie!" Sapnap says excitedly, "We wanted to ask you something."

"You wanted to ask him something." I correct, and he rolls his eyes.

George smiles and waits for Sapnap to continue.

"Do you want to stay here for another week?"

I look back at the eggs and decide they're ready. Sapnap likes sunny side up, so I pick up the pan and drop them onto a plate.

"Another week?" He asks confusedly, and looks over to meet my gaze. I shrug and nod.

I crack two more eggs into the pan before bringing the plate to Sapnap. He smiles at me gratefully.
