Story 35 Surprise party

*Jens pov*

It's David's birthday today and he went to New York yesterday to collect Cleo to bring her back here. They are arriving later on today so I have about 5 hours to set up a surprise party for him. It is currently 11am and he is coming home at 4 I need to get started. I'm called Court to come over and help me set up and I think that's her now.

Jen: Hey Court.

Courteney: Hey Jen let's get started

Jen: Ok 

Were going to put balloons around the room and a banner saying happy birthday David along the edge of the kitchen counter. I am also going  to hang dangly sparkly things around the doorways. After we have put all the decorations up we are going to make food for the party and a big cake .

We have just put the cake in the oven to cook and all the decorations are ready and so is the food. All the guests are starting to arrive and David is going to be here any minute. Court and I are just chatting waiting for him to come

Jen: He's only been gone for a day but that is enough to make me miss him. I am so excited to see him again.

That's when she saw the door open and David's handsome face appeared with Cleo following him closely. His eyes fixed on Jens smiling face immediately and his face lit up. She ran over to them as fast as she could, gave Cleo a quick hug and then threw herself into David's arms and gave him a big kiss. 

Jen: Surprisee! Happy birthday honey

David: Thank you, you didn't have to do all this for me. I love you Jenny

Jen: I love you too

That was that, she was attached to him for the rest of the night and would not leave his side. Cleo went and played with Coco, Jason and Amanda's kids maple and Francesca, jimmy's kids and a bunch of other kids that were there. 

When dinner was ready they all sat up at the big dining table and ate all the food Jen and Court had prepared hungrily. When everyone was done their food Jen got up from her chair next to David's and kissed him before running to the kitchen to get his cake which was now iced and decorated by Courteney. She stuck some candles in it, one of which was in the shape of Ross and Rachel. She lit them and then carried the cake back through to where everyone was sat singing happy birthday as she went. When she came into earshot everyone joined in. The room was now almost completely dark because Courteney switched off the lights when Jen left. She walked to the table and placed the cake in front of David. 

Jen: Make a wish

David then blew out the candles and made a wish. Jen cut everyone a slice and then sat back down in her seat as the pieces were passed around the table. While everyone was finishing their cake Jen shuffled her chair closer to David and rested her head on his shoulder.

Jen: I hope you had fun today

David: I did and all thanks to you

She smiled and entwined her fingers with his until everyone started to go through to the living room again. Jen and David sat on the sofa and cuddled for most of the night until Courteney put music on. They couldn't resist so David scooped Jen up and carried her over to where some other people were dancing. He put her down and began to twirl her round . Then he wrapped his arms around her waist and they danced until they were so tired they couldn't dance anymore. So they went back to the sofa and flopped down on top of each other and stayed there.

Soon Cleo came over and asked if they could play a board game so they agreed and set up monopoly. They played until Coco won then it was time for the guests to leave. They all left one by one until it was just Jen and David left in the house. 

Jen: You can go have a nice relaxing shower while I clear this up and I will be up to bed as soon as I'm done.

David: You sure you don't want any help

Jen: I'm sure go relax and I'll be up as soon as I can

David: Ok I'll see you in a bit then

He walked off  to the shower and Jen started tiding. When he was done his shower he got into bed to wait for Jen. As soon as she was done tidying she sprinted upstairs tot he bedroom and took her clothes off and got into bed next to him. They were way to tired to even stay up and talk for too long so 

Jen: Goodnight birthday boy

David: Goodnight sweetie

With that they snuggled into each other and they fell fast asleep, tired out from all the dancing.
