(3rd POV)
Enterprise: Wales and Illustrious decided to go rescue Sheffield and Edinburgh, while I locate The recon fleet.
She stood at the front of her carrier, gazing upon the task force she led, being able to see just how much everyone cared for each other put a smile on her face.
From the little destroyers to the formidable carriers and battleships, everyone wanted to partake in this operation.
She even had Vestal come along, although that was more because she didn't think their missing comrades would come back unscathed, than anything else.
Enterprise: And yet, with all of these ships, I still feel as though it's not enough.
Her thoughts were cut short by the sound of people hoping on to her deck. Turning around she was met with the concerned sisters of the missing ships.
Intrepid: We've been searching for hours now. do you think that-
Casablanca: Don't! They're still alive, they have to be.
Bremerton: In any case, it's been a little over 2 hours and we still haven't picked anything up on radar. I'm beginning to think that we're searching in the wrong place.
Enterprise: That is a possibility...
Silence permeated between the five, that was until Fletcher spoke up.
Fletcher: W-well, we just need to search in a different area.
Intrepid: She's right! There's no way that they-
Washington *radio*: Portals, above us!
Acting on instinct, the members of the fleet readied their AA guns, incase siren aircraft came out, with some of the battleships switching to their rigging.
What came out of the portal, however, were not siren aircraft, but rather five girls, two of which were screaming their heads off.
AAAAHHHH!!!
SPLASH
They landed in the water, creating a sizeable splash.
The girls that had switched into their rigging went to where they landed, only to see a pile of limbs and rigging parts.
A familiar head of purple hair poked out from the pile.
Essex: H-help quick, she won't last much longer.
She said this as the pile started to move, out came Samuel, who was holding an unconscious Johnston in her arms.
By now, the girls on Enterprise's carrier had arrived and were able to see the condition the five were in.
Fletcher/Casablanca: Sister!
They skated over to their younger siblings, who were the only ones unconscious as Baltimore, had begun waking up.
It was only when they got to them, were they able to see the extent of the injuries. To Casablanca's relief, Gambier Bay was relatively fine, having only sustained your standard bruises and scratches. Although the fact that she was unconscious was something to worry about.
Fletcher on the other hand, almost had a heart attack. What she saw was battered and bruised, along with a plethora of gauze and bandages covering a large hole that went straight through the left side of her stomach.
Fletcher: J- a... sis...
She took off her glasses, wiped her eyes, blinked then put them back on. Only to scream at the fact that what she was seeing was real. Her sister was practically dead.
