Ellinor looked around, her heart pounding. She knew very well what was happening, but she was nowhere near where she needed to be. In stead, she was trapped in a city, among only those she didn't know. It felt like her last hour was upon her.

She had spent the morning looking for a place to hide. No ordinary hotel room would be good enough for this. The door would be kicked in within seconds. There was no stopping these powers.

Yunho looked at the woman running through the streets. Her scent was obvious, even to him. Anyone could tell she was getting desperat. Yunho sighed and ran after her.

She cried out in fear when he caught up with her. She threw herself into an alley, but it was a dead end, there was nowhere for her to go.

A deep growl could be heard from her chest, and she looked at him with her bright shining blue eyes. He blinked and looked back at her with his yellow eyes.

«What do you want, beta?» she asked, aggressively.

«I can help. I have somewhere for you to hide.»

«I don't need your help..»

He interrupted her. «You're getting close to your Time, I can feel it even though I'm just a beta. I have helped others. Follow me.»

He didn't wait for her answer, he just started running. He could hear her following him.

«What the hell is this?» she asked when they finally stopped.

«This is where I live, with my pack.» He opened the gate to an idyllic garden that now was frozen and dead. Winter came too quickly this year.

«I can't go into a house filled with wolves. The alphas will..»

«In the basement we have a cell. Our omegas use it when it's needed.»

He could see her eyes wandering as she was thinking. There was no time for this, they could hear howling somewhere in the city. Someone was starting to pick up on her scent. She had no choice, she had to trust this beautiful beta whom she didn't know. She nodded her head.

«Thank you,» she said and followed him to the door.

«We need to move fast down to the cell. There are many strong alphas in my pack.»

«Is this even safe?»

«Safer than being on the streets,» he said. «Nobody has ever been able to break into the cell when our omegas have used ut, but I do sense something else in you. Are you ready? We have to run. Follow me.»

He unlocked the door as quiet as possible, then opened it wide and then they ran on light feet through the corridor towards the door at the end. Ellinor understood where they were going and followed the beta, trusting him blindly.

Within seconds the house was in chaos. Roars could be heard from the floors above them, and running feet came down the stairs in the other end of the corridor. The beta quickly opened the door and they pretty much dove down the stairs towards the basement.

Only Ellinors instincts kept her on her feet in the darkness, she could feel her wolf guide her towards the only safety she could sense. This is what she was looking for, that her body had told her existed. She threw herself into the cell and the beta shut the door to the cell. A small click was heard as the electronic lock made sure the door could not be opened any time soon. At the same time a group of furious alphas came storming down the stairs.

The beta was immediately pushed towards the wall, an alpha with his hands around his neck. Another alpha growled a warning and the beta was released. The silence that followed was only broken by the heavy breathing from everyone in the basement.

«What the hell is this,» a strong voice said and a man was let forward by the alphas that were all staring at the omega behind the bars.

The beta pushed himself against the alpha, hid his face in the alphas neck and breathed his scent.

«Forgive my, alpha,» he said to his mate. «She needed our help.»

«You should know better than to take in an omega close to her Time.»

«I'm sorry, alpha, but we all know what would happen to her if she didn't find a safe place now.»

The alpha looked at the woman on the floor, she was still laying there, but now she stood up. She kept looking only into his eyes, even though there were other alphas present.

«Who are you?» he asked, and she growled and pushed herself towards the wall behind her. «Answer me!»

The omega winced and fell to the floor again. «Ellinor,» she said, there was no way she could stay silent. It was nature that demanded it be so, she was the omega and he, clearly, was a very strong alpha. Not by being a big person, no, he was rather small framed, his mate being taller than him. Yet there was something demanding over this alpha, something you could never fake.

«What pack do you belong to?»

«No pack, alpha,» she said quietly, she met no ones eyes.

«How long have you been alone?»

«Many years, alpha. Since I was 15.»

«And now you are?»

«I don't know, 25?» She couldn't lie, she clearly didn't know for sure.

Being alone, without a pack, for 10 years seemed unbelievable, yet she could only be true. Yunhos' heart ached for her. Most werewolves did not survive that long on their own.

«Why did you come to the city?»

«I don't know, alpha,» she said, sounding rather pathetic.

«Why?!» he growled, making her crumble to the floor, pressing her forehead to the cold floor.

«I felt I had to. I don't know why, alpha!» She sobbed, shaking in front of all these wolves, yet the only one that mattered was this alpha. The leader.

«You came, even though you knew your Time was coming?»

«It came to soon. I was nearly trapped by a group of alphas. There were so many of them, I think that might have triggered it.»

The alpha looked at her for a minute, every alpha in the room fighting their own battle.

«Everyone leave. Yunho is the only one to stay with me.»

The alpha looked at his mate with warmth. Some of the others snarled at each other, but the leaders deep growl made them all listen.

Heavy, angry feet stomped up the stairs. The door at the top was closed, and they couldn't hear what else might happen upstairs. The same way as those upstairs couldn't hear what was said or done downstairs. This basement was very well insulated, both when it came to sound and smell.
