«Mommy! We have a surprise for you!»
«There you are! Why are you so late?! Don't you know how worried I get?»
«We were chased by some omegas from the city, but then a pack came and stopped them and..»
«You were chased?»
«It wasn't that dangerous..»
«Of course it was dangerous!» Livv protested, like mothers do, and then she kissed the youngest forehead.
«Do you want to know about the surprise or not?» Kai asked with a frown and she had to laugh.
«Yes, please.»
He couldn't hide his pride as the eight-year-old said: «We found your pack.»
Livv probably turned white because the other three that were in the room rushed to her.
«Don't joke around like that.»
«Come and see, mommy, it's true!»
He pulled her to the courtyard and she saw a familiar group of wolves looking around, curious and skeptical at the same time.
«Kai, go find Sunwoo, please. She'll want to know immediately.»
«Yes, mommy.»
Livv went down the stairs towards the courtyard and Helena who saw her first, shifted and ran to her.
«Livv!» Helena was crying before they even held each other. Livv pulled off her coat and put it around Helena. They were both sobbing, not really understanding that this was real.
«Are you really here?» Livv cried and laughed at once.
«We're here.»
The pack was led indoors and everyone shifted and got dressed. There was no end to the hugging. There was so much to update each other on, but first, they made food and ate together.
«This feels so right,» Wooyoung said as he was looking at everyone. Sunwoo and Livv had three small children close. The pack was at the moment San and Wooyoung, Helena, Mingi and Minah, Hongjoong and Yunho, Yeosang and Seonghwa, in addition to Livv and Sunwoo. There were many kids around, but they kept their distance for now.
«We belong together,» Yunho nodded, and everyone let their eyes sweep over the group.
It was getting late, but no one wanted to go to bed. Sunwoo and Livv spent time with the children, but they eventually returned to the big living room with the fire. The pack was spread throughout the room, but now they gathered in and around the chair by the fire. They were ready for a big talk.
«There are so many questions,» Hongjoong started. «Sunwoo and Livv, I suppose you're wondering about those not present at the moment. There are so many details, but very briefly explain... As you can see, we got Helena back. Minah was born. Then Seonghwa and Ellinor were attacked, Seonghwa nearly died and Ellinor was taken. We were able to save Seonghwa, mostly due to Yunho's efforts, but Ellinor is still gone. They burned her pack mark and the mating mark to Seonghwa off of her.»
Livv and Sunwoo both gasped and squeezed each other's hands.
«Yes, it's pretty gruesome, but... it seems Ellinor might be pregnant. Seonghwa is experiencing an immature parent-child link, so... Ellinor is alive.»
«And Jongho?» Sunwoo was afraid to ask, she was looking at Yeosang.
«He followed Ellinor's trail. He's alive, I know that much, but he didn't return to the forest before the deadline. We had to leave, but I hope he'll be there when we go for the midsummer meet-up in the woods.»
