It was still a few weeks till the pup was supposed to come when Seonghwa woke up one early morning to Ellinor's low groans. He was on his feet within seconds.
«Ell, love, what's wrong?»
«Nothing is wrong,» she smiled in the half-dark room. She was leaning on the window cill, only wearing her pajamas. «But I think you'll be a daddy really soon.»
«It's too early!»
«I know, but it still feels right. I'm not scared.»
«Well, I am!» the big, strong alpha declared.
He put his arms around her and got to feel what a contraction felt like on the outside. It was really fascinating watching the belly contract like that, it was very powerful. Ellinor was breathing through it, leaning on him. When it was over, she smiled up at him.
«Would you wake Yunho, please?»
«Right away!»
«No need to hurry, I just want to hear what he thinks.»
«I'll get him here immediately.»
«Honey, promise you won't scare Hongjoong to death,» she smiled. «There really is no hurry.»
«I'll try not to wake the entire fortress,» he chuckled. «But I'm getting Yunho right now.»
«Thank you, love.»
«I love you,» he said and kissed her before going to the door.
«Darling?» she giggled.
«Yes?»
«Maybe you should dress before going into the common areas?»
«Oh!» He looked at himself. Walking butt naked through the fortress might not be the greatest idea. Smiling at his own silliness he put on some clothes before winking at her and leaving their room.
It didn't take many minutes before Yunho was there. He did a quick examination and confirmed what Ellinor already knew. She was in labor. There was no rush, but they had already talked about where they wanted it. Ellinor didn't want to give birth in their bedroom, so they all went to the rooms where Yunho had made himself a small clinic. With so many children in the pack, there was always someone who needed something. There were cuts to be sown or other minor injuries to take care of. Yunho had everything he needed close by, so they had placed a bed there for the birth. They could easily keep the kids out, at the same time as it was easy to have the adults visit.
Hongjoong stopped by to say hi. He kept Seonghwa company for a little while. Ellinor was going into herself, she didn't really notice much around herself anymore.
«She's strong,» Hongjoong said to the nervous father-to-be.
«The strongest I know, but it's still scary.»
«It can't be a coincidence that it happens today.»
«What do you mean?»
«Did you not realize that today...»
«Seonghwa!» Ellinor interrupted his thoughts.
«Yes, my love,» he said, completely forgetting about what Hongjoong had said. Hongjoong could tell that it was getting closer, and looked at Yunho.
«Could you please have Livv and Helena join us now?» Yunho said. They had agreed that the two of them would join them when the child was about to arrive. Joong nodded and quickly left the clinic.
Before the two omegas arrived, Ellinor had started pushing. It all moved quickly and a shocked Seonghwa saw a tiny dark-haired beauty arrive into this world.
«He's so small!» Seonghwa cried when he saw the little boy on his mother's chest. With a loud cry, he announced that he had arrived.
Ellinor looked at the little one, her hands shaking as she tried to hold him. She looked at Seonghwa with a furrowed brow, and finally, she turned to Yunho.
«What's wrong?»
Yunho immediately understood that there was something going on. Helena picked up the newborn while Seonghwa just watched Ellinor writhe in agony.
«Elli?»
Livv was pale, but she focused and helped Yunho as much as she could. Seonghwa was no help whatsoever, panic had taken over the alpha. Yunho was clear in his commands and through their link he called Hongjoong back.
«Seonghwa, you must use your power and tell Ellinor to push. Do you hear me?»
Yunho wasn't getting through to Seonghwa, not before he grabbed him and shook him.
«Seonghwa! There's another pup in there! You have to make Ellinor push! Use your alpha power on her. Now!!»
The man roared and Seonghwa finally listened. Sobbing he talked to Ellinor. She wasn't unconscious, but she wasn't quite aware either.
Hongjoong came storming through the door, already sensing what was going on through the link with Yunho. He immediately went to Ellinor and Seonghwa.
«Ellinor, listen to me and Seonghwa. You're going to push again. There's another pup in your tummy that needs to come out. I know you're tired, but you're going to push now. Now!!»
«Please!» Seonghwa begged her, his tears wetting her hand. «Ellinor.»
There was too much blood, and yet Livv looked at Yunho with surprise.
«Fur?»
«The pup is coming in its wolf,» he nodded, too busy to really register.
Livv had never heard of that ever happening before, she didn't know that was even possible. Still, a small wolf pup was being pushed out of Ellinor with her last energy. Bigger than its big brother in human form, but still somewhat pathetic. The blood didn't hide the light one-colored fur.
Livv took the pup and cleaned the nose and mouth. Soon small whines could be heard from the tiny wolf pup, it couldn't cry as a human child would.
Yunho was working harder and quicker than ever before. He had Hongjoong put spoons of potion in Ellinor's mouth. He had them ready, just in case. Now she was unconscious. Seonghwa was hysterical, crying and almost shaking Ellinor. Hongjoong kept on talking to her with his alpha power. Amidst this chaos, there were two newborns.
Livv held the newborn pup close. Wrapped in a blanket she saw the little one shifting from wolf to human. Livv stared at the child and then brought it over to Ellinor.
«What are you doing? Not now, Livv!» Yunho scolded her and tried to push her away.
«Yes, now,» Livv insisted. She put the little one directly on Ellinor's chest, skin to skin without blankets or clothing between them.
It was like Ellinor was struck by lightning. Suddenly she gasped for air and lifted her head, staring at Seonghwa who just looked back, his face wet with tears. Yunho and Hongjoong looked at each other, and Livv only looked at the child on Ellinor's chest.
«How did you know to put her there?» Yunho quietly asked Livv when Ellinor and Seonghwa eventually had calmed down, with the two babies on mommy's chest.
«She told me to.»
Hongjoong and Yunho looked at Livv.
«I'm not crazy! The baby told me to.»
