The dancing game was about to begin.
The rules were simple, really. Practically, every person would have to change dance partners every time the music changes. The music would, of course, differ every time. Starting off with a pop music into jazz or hip hop and depending on the genre, the couples would have to dance accordingly. Whenever the music is about to change, the people on the dance floor would get notified approximately two seconds before, by a beeping sound, so that they would prepare to search for a new partner. Ideally, no one is allowed to dance with the same person twice, so that there would be as many interactions as possible, but it wasn't a rule to be followed blindly, of course.
"Will you accompany me to the dance floor, Liv?"
In Olivia's mind, there were a lot of things going on. Especially after this whole soap opera scene with Minho and Mia, Olivia had nothing else to distract her mind with. She knew from the start that she wouldn't participate to the dancing game, since she wasn't feeling like it. However, when she looked up to the boy calling her name, a stretched out hand in front of her, with his sweet smile and cute dimples, she couldn't resist him. He looked way to excited to reject him at once.
Her facial feautures lightened up to the boy's cheerful smile and strecthed out her hand to grab his. "I wouldn't dare to say no to our baby bread now, would I?" she chuckled while accepting and Jeongin squealed in happiness.
"Yay! I really wanted you to be my first dance partner. You are looking super duper beautiful today, I couldn't resist!" the younger boy said cheekily, making Olivia give out a genuine smile. Jeongin knew very well how to make Olivia feel better in an instant and that was his plan for today; Try and make Olivia have fun tonight. He had realised that something was bothering her and after noticing the silent treatment Chan was giving his friends these past three weeks, it dawn on him.
Dragging her to the dance floor, Jeongin kept a wide smile on his face while waiting for the music to start playing. The dance floor was nearly packed with every student on the school, giving them quite a small amount of space to move freely. Not a minute later, a student cheerfully announced on the speakers that the dancing game was about to begin shortly and right after that, a beeping sound echoed through the spacious room.
A soft music started playing that was followed by some familiar, yet old lyrics. The song was familiar to everyone and it was a good start for this game.
(I know there's no choreography in this clip, but I thought this is such a fun and lovely song for the two to dance to)
As "Singing In The Rain" played on, Jeongin gently placed one hand on Olivia's waist and with the other one he held Olivia's hand. Although it was a slow song, the atmosphere wasn't heavy or awkward, rather, Jeongin took the lead and started swinging with Olivia in an energetic manner, making them both laugh in the process.
"Surprisingly, you are a great dancer." Olivia said astonished, while Jeongin released his hand from her waist and made her twirl around. The boy smiled proudly, feeling happy that he was able to make his friend have a good time with him. "I'm trying, really." he shrugged his shoulders and swing her once again. "I was hoping you could be my dance partner for the rest of the game, actually..." his smile dropped into a shy one and Olivia was quick to notice his blush.
