By the time I stepped foot on the Rome airport, two familiar figures were waiting to welcome me to the new country. Having a good grip of my luggage, I went up to them and greeted my two best friends. "Hey guys." I said breathless, going in for a side hug to which both Ava and Mia accepted at once.
Normally, sane people would question a friend that just came from a flight about their mental and physical state. Well, Mia is no sane person, because the very first thing I heard coming from her mouth was, "Was the pilot a hottie?" saying with the smuggest smile on her face.
"Mia, please stop trying to hook me up with every male that has two feet and walks on earth." I sighed visibly, my eyes rolling in frustration. Ever since my heartbreak with Chan, Mia hasn't stopped trying to matchmake me with any male she sees. It wasn't too long ago, when she announced that she has arranged a date for me with her cousin who is on of the groosmen for the wedding. Being the maid of honor, I cannot walk down the aisle alone -according to Mia- and so, she told me that her cousin will escort me there. I'd rather have Bob escort me, than a guy that I hardly even know.
Speaking of Bob, I hope my poor angel is not feeling too suffocated inside this carrier. I couldn't spent a whole week in Italy without my baby, so of course I took him with me.
"A chicken has two feet as well, but I'm not trying to hook you up with a rooster." the girl huffed with an angry pout. "I'm only doing this for your own good, you know." she muttered.
"Yes, but we are not here for me, are we? It's you who we should focus on."
"Ah yes, I know!" completely forgetting about the matchmaking, Mia exclaimed excitedly with small jumps.
How to destract Mia, Tip 1: Turn the conversation to her and you will be off the hook in no time.
Turning my attention to Ava, whom I hadn't seen for a while. "God, I missed you! How's everything going in your life?" I gave her another hug.
The taller girl let out tired sigh, but a refreshing smile was pinned on her lips. "Ah, you know. Being busy moving in, but other than that, everything is great. How are you doing..?" her smile faltered, now looking at me with a hint of pity in her eyes.
"Uh...why are you looking at me like that? What did Mia tell you?" I took a step back, my eyebrow arched suspiciously.
Keeping that pitiful look on her face, Ava brought her hand to gently pat my head. "Oh, nothing, sweetie. Absolutely nothing."
Grabbing her hand, I gave her a glare. "Ava...stop looking at me as if I'm homeless, please. I'm doing perfectly fine. I got a cat too."
"Yeah, Mia told me." she blinked with the same smile.
"What else did she tell you?"
"NoThInG... Anyhow, we gotta leave to catch the train that leaves for Sorrento. The guys are waiting for us there for a coffee and later, we'll take the Ferry for Positano." she helped me with the suitcases, slipping out of the discussion.
Apparently, I'm not the only one that arrived earlier than planned. Minho told the guys to come early as well for the preparations, so basically, the whole group is here. Meaning that...there's a high chance he will be there too and I am not mentally ready for that...
"I thought Positano would be closer than this..." I mumbled, already feeling tired from the travelling we were about to go through. At that, Mia gave me an unamused look. "I wasn't expecting anything less from you. If you had truly searched up about it, you would know already." flicking my forehead, Mia took some of my stuff and started walking. Ava gave me one last pitiful glance and followed the shorter girl from behind.
