Chapter 41 (Part 1)

Today was the third and last day of this energetic short trip to the lake houses. The whole group had decided to spent some quality time all together and make up for yesterday's incident, where the girls and I didn't actually had a board game night with the boys. Everyone, after last night, was too awkward with each other and you can imagine how hard Changbin was trying to make up for his mistake, because Ava was holding a grudge on him, rightfully. Chan and Seungmin had built up a fire outisde, near the lake, so we could have a nice, peaceful night with one another and try to break the ice between us through the warmth of the fire.

 We had sat down on the grass,  with blankets and snacks to pass the time, while we were waiting for our poorly made s'mores to be ready. And of course, the girls and I couln't just pick a random stick to melt our marsmellows on, because Mia was claiming that a wild animal could have peed on it. So instead, we asked Felix's mother for scewer sticks, letting the boys stick their own marsmellows on some random wooden branch, that might give them plague afterwards. It's their fault that wanted to do it the traditonal way, so if they die or get food poisoning, we will not be to blame.

 It was night already and the grass and rocks that peeked trough the ground, made it difficult for us to play board games. Also, the dim light, coming only from the fire, wasn't helping us see much either. So, Hyunjin came up with the bright idea to improvise and change a bit the plans and instead of the board games, we would play verbal ones.

What I mean by that... Do you know those games that make you feel uncomfortable, because either you will have to do something stupid or will have to tell a truth about yourself?

 Yeah... That's what I'm talking about.

Ah Hyunjin... You and your bright ideas. That's why I love you. 

No, I don't, I used to.

No, I didn't. 

I don't know.

Anyhow, that's not the point. 

The first game we were going to play, was 'Never Have I Ever'... Gosh I already want to go home.

I was sitting in between Mia and Ava, with Changbin on the right side of his girlfriend, trying with all possible ways to make her forgive him. As Ava is giving him the silent treatement, Changbin is doing all the work for her. No, literally. He is making the S'mores for her, melting the marshmellow on her scewer stick, feeding her chocolate while waiting for the fluffy cloud, that can give you diabetes, to turn a little brown and he is even doing it with the airplane way. You know, the way our parents used to make us eat our vegetables, by doing all these weird machine sounds and wiggly movements of their hands? The boy has, basically, turned into her slave and will not stop until his girlfriend talks to him. 

"Alright, I'll go first." Hyunjin took a piece of his chocolate bar and popped it in his mouth. "I'll go easy on you." he smiled playfully, already making me groan in regret for ever agreeing to this. "Never have I ever gotten detention." he said and looked around the circle of bodies around the fire, without raising his hand.

Actually, I wasn't expecting for anyone to raise a hand, because we are good kids and wouldn't like to get into trouble- FELIX?! What?

Felix was the only one raising his hands and we all turned to look at him with big eyes."You have gotten detention?" Ava lifted her brows in disbelief, the rest of us mirroring her reaction.

Felix would have been the last person to imagine that had gotten detention. The boy is literally the teachers' favourite student.

"Well...yeah." the freckled boy gave off an awkward smile, rubbing the back of his head. "I may or may not have been watching TikTok videos during class and wasn't paying the least bit attention to the teacher...Hehe." he chuckled soflty and we all made an 'oh' sound, indicating that we were expecting something like that. So, that explains it... Typical Felix.
