It's the second day of this 'lake houses' trip and like yesterday, we wore our swimwears and went for a swim in the lake. We spent all morning and almost all afternoon running, swimming and splashing water on each other, probably gotten a sunburn and a sun stroke after so many hours under the sunny weather.

Everything was going smoothly and nothing was out of the ordinary, so I don't know how this happened, but the boys ended up telling us a very spooky story, about the lake's monster or the fisherman of the night, out of the blue. It was out of topic and I don't even understand how Minho started talking about such peculiar thing, but nontheless, Mia had gotten the creeps.

Not only Mia, to be precise, but anyways.

And to be completely honest, the way they described this 'lake's monster' or 'the fisherman of the night', however they like to call it, it was truly...shivery.

It's not like I believe in such kind of things, not a sane person would at least, but it was something in the way everyone looked so believably terrified, that seeped in me and a shiver rolled down my spine while listening to their story telling.

Flashback [Author's P.O.V.]

"The ghost was here last night." Minho casually sipped on his iced coffee, while he laid back on the folding wooden beach chair. He lazily looked in front of him, watching how everyone had stopped their momentum and glanced back at him with confusion.

Mia had now stopped chasing Olivia with a stick, Ava and Changbin had broken their hug and the rest of the boys had stopped fooling around with each other. Minho's words seemed to had sparked confusion among them, but the boy knew where he wanted to lead this conversation.

"The ghost?" Ava tried to process his words, as a wide grin creeped on the brunette boy's lips.

"Yes, there's a ghost wandering in this area and last night, Jeongin saw something that made him go pale. It must have been this." Minho glanced at her under his sunglasses. Right then, a bell seemed to ring inside of everyone's mind, as the boys noticed what the older boy was trying to imply. They all nodded frantically, agreeing with Minho's statement, seemingly taking their place in this act. Although the girls remained obvlivious of the boys' plan, they did realise that there wasn't exactly a ghost that made the youngest turn white as a sheet, but rather, it was them, the girls that naughtily and sneackily hid behind a wall to watch all eight boys dance, without them being aware.

"Oh, thank God..." the shortest girl, Mia sighed under her breath, speaking lowly so no one would notice her relief. Not only her, but the other two girls as well, seemed to relax a bit, after understanding that such thing as a wandering ghost didn't exist.

However, the boys had other things in plan as they wished to take things a little bit further than this and actually, came up with an intresting story to support Minho's comment. "It's true. It is said, that this specific lake we are standing right now, is hunted by a lake monster." Felix added in a whipser, making his words intetionally creepier than needed. His eyes had went big and his body was leaning slightly forward, as if what he was saying, was forbidden and the so-called lake monster would jump off the lake and devour them all.

Despite the spookiness in Felix's tone, the girls played it cool, because they still believed that no such thing existed and it was indeed, just a legend. "Yeah and so is the Loch Ness monster." Olivia snorted, not accepting the freckled boy's story and canceling this way, his statement.

Although, the boys' story didn't end there. "No, I don't think it's a monster that hunts this lake. Haven't Minho told us once about this fisherman of the night?" Chan, the oldest of the group and supposedly the most mature out of them, continued with this irrational story. Now, it was obvious that his words had attracted a great deal of the girls' interest, since a fisherman was more believable than a mythical lake monster. Still, they couldn't believe it just yet as they didn't want to accept the truth.
