"Y/N, that was my good leg..." he mutters.
"Good leg? What the hell does that mean, Kou?!"
"Well you see-" he begins, but before he can say more his voice is interrupted by the camper horn honking. The two of you look over and see the bright lights of the RV heading straight towards you.
"Time to go," you say as you turn back to him. "I'll help you up."
You quickly throw his arm around your shoulders and help him stand. However, as he puts all of his weight on you as though neither of his legs are functioning at all, you struggle to even stand up.
Luckily, you hear the sound of the camper's breaks squeaking and see Akaashi run towards you to help. He wraps his arm around the other side of Bokuto and takes some of the pressure off of you.
"Dumbass, if you could walk with that leg this whole time, you can make it a few more steps," he grumbles as he feels the harsh weight of his friend.
"Sorry," Bokuto grumbles as he attempts to listen and walk somewhat on the leg that isn't freshly injured. You're so thankful for it, too, because it really does help you out.
The second you're up the stairs of the RV, Hotaru speeds away. You don't miss the loud screech of the tires against the concrete as she takes off. You wobble a bit at the sudden movement but are able to quickly place Bokuto down onto the sofa.
Kenma then rushes over to you with the first aid kit installed with the camper. You gratefully accept it and kneel down in front of Bokuto to begin the stabilization of the iron pole.
You look to the side and see Kuroo hovering right over you, hoping anxiously to help in some way. "Kuroo, hold it in place and don't let it move," you order as you show him how to wrap his hands around the rod to prevent it from moving.
Once Kuroo's in position, you sit up to check out Bokuto's face. You check his eyes and his pulse, making sure he's still conscious and breathing. As you pull away, you take note that the pole is on the outside of his calf where fewer veins and arteries exist, thankfully.
You then pull your knife out from its hiding and rip away the fabric of his pants to better expose the area. However, unlike Kuroo, your hands are shaking like leaves in the wind.
"Calm down, Y/N," he tells you. "You're not going to be able to help him if you're all worked up like that."
You nervously look at Kuroo and take a moment to catch your breath. "Thanks," you breathe as you pause for a second before turning towards Kenma and the first aid kit.
Luckily, there are dressing packages. You begin to tear them open one by one and wrap them around Bokuto's injury to help prevent the rod from moving around as Kuroo keeps it still.
"Kenma, can you grab one of the rolls of gauze and wrap it around Bokuto's leg?" you ask as you hold the dressing packages in place.
Kenma works quickly to do as you've asked. He wraps the gauze around the dressing packages below the injury site. Once it's secure, you grab more gauze and finish the rest yourself.
"What's next?" Kuroo asks as you sit back onto your feet and take a few deep breaths.
"There's nothing else I can do. He needs to get to a hospital as soon as possible," you say without parting your eyes from Bokuto.
"Saeko wanted to meet up at a rest stop. Can someone call her so she knows the plans changed?!" Hotaru shouts from her spot in the driver's seat.
"On it!" Kuroo shouts as he runs off to grab his phone from the stash of goodies you, Hotaru, and Saeko collected a little while ago.
The second you take your eyes off of Bokuto, Kenma gasps and makes you wish you hadn't looked away. "He looks like he's gonna pass out," he comments.
You sit up onto your knees and lean closer to him. There, you see that he does look like he's about to fall asleep.
"Stay with me," you whisper as you tap his cheeks just hard enough for his eyes to open a bit wider. "We're gonna get you to a hospital, okay?"
"No way," he mutters as his eyes fully open up. "No, can't you do it, Y/N?"
"No, of course not. I'm not a doctor," you shake your head. "I don't want to end up hurting you."
"But if I go they won't let me leave..."
"What are you talking about?" you ask worriedly.
"My other leg is broken."
"What the hell?! When were you planning on telling me that! You said you were fine!" you gasp.
"After the trip," he sighs. "I didn't want to ruin it for you guys."
"You idiot," Kuroo groans as he sits down on the couch beside him.
"I mean, it was pretty obvious if you ask me," Akaashi sighs.
"Yeah, well we aren't all as perceptive as you," Kuroo mutters.
"You knew?" you interrupt. "How?"
"Every time you looked away from him, the idiot would start limping. I knew something was up the first day we all met at that coffee shop."
"Either way," you say as you look back to Bokuto who is now fully awake. "I'm sorry, but we don't have a choice. You have to go to the hospital before something worse happens to you."
"Please don't tell them about my other leg, okay?" he begs.
"Are you stupid?" Kuroo scoffs. "We're not letting you leave there until you're feeling better."
"You couldn't walk ten minutes ago," Kenma adds. "You shouldn't be making stupid decisions for yourself right now. Besides, Y/N knows what's best for you so you should just listen to her!"
"Not wrong," Akaashi nods as he walks away.
Bokuto sighs as he looks over at you, hoping that you'll listen to his pleads. However, you know better than to let him walk around with a broken leg for longer than he already has. He's going to the hospital and staying there until he gets better.
