"Yeah, so he burned me!" I exclaim to Isaac as we roam the isles of the corner store. "On my back, and when I fought them, I picked up the stupid stake and burned myself!" I bandaged up my hand after the swelling continued to increase.
"I hate Brad." Isaac mumbles. After all, Brad stole his longtime girlfriend.
"We all do." We turn into the pet department. They keep this section extremely small at the odd chance someone does have a pet. They only have two brands of dog and cat food. Hmm, well there is young cat, and adult, but the young has chicken meal in it. I grab the adult and put it in the cart. I hope Blaise likes it.
"I mean, I thought we would be together forever, and then Brad started coming here. How can you steal a girlfriend?" Depression roams from Isaac in deep sorrowful gusts.
"Stop feeling so depressed. Apparently you guys weren't right for each other. If you were, you may still have Mandy as a girlfriend." I try to comfort him. "You'll find another girl, one who doesn't dump you for the first guy to come down from California."
"But it won't be Mandy!" He wails and I look behind me to make sure no one is staring. God, Isaacs starting a scene.
"Get a grip!" I take him by the shoulders and make him look at me. His soft brown eyes are filled with tears and his bottom lip quivers. "Just because a dumb girl dumped you, does not mean you can't find better. You deserve a lot more than her. You deserve a girl who thinks you're the most handsome guy out there, who thinks you're the smartest, the funniest, the best."
"That's deep, Lizzy." A smile tugs at Isaacs's mouth and I immediately feel better, even though it was him I was trying to comfort.
Then a thought hits me like a car. What if Daniel isn't right for me?
When I walk up to my room, I know my bottle of blood should be waiting patiently for me, ready to comfort and strengthen me. But when I get there, there is no trace for the bottle except for a feint whiff of AB-. Aww, AB-. Why did they have to take it today?
"What's wrong?" Isaac catches my disgruntled face. I'm staring at the spot the blood should be.
"Some people are stupid. They steal blood from a Vampire, not knowing that if I find them, I'm going to make up the loss." I growl and unlock my door.
"Why would they steal the blood?" Isaac tries to grasp it.
"Because they want to mess with me, which is really stupid." I glance at my perfect clean room and set down the cat food.
Blaise, where are you? I have a surprise! I look under my bed for my little kitten, in the bathroom, out the window, and even in my closet. Blaise doesn't appear anywhere.
Coming. A feint reply travels through our connection. I breathe a sigh of relief and put a bag on the bed. I take out two cat bowls, which are the perfect height for Blaise. I fill them up with some cat food and water, and wait for the little guy to climb through the window
He finally does, and he leaps into my arms. Aww, Blaise! I missed you! I squeeze him lightly.
I missed you to! I read newspaper today. For my... Vocabulary. Blaise says proudly.
Good job, little guy. I have some food for you. I know it might not be the best, but it's the best I found. I apologize, but when Blaise starts eating it like a madman, I know he likes it.
"Thanks for shopping with me." I thank Isaac, who's looking around my quant room.
"No problem." He starts digging in his pocket. "Daniel wanted me to give you this." He hands me a note, which I quickly unfold.
