"Lizzy, wake up. You've been asleep for a week now." Isaacs light voice sweeps into my ears. I groan and squeeze my eyes even tighter.
"She's been through a lot, just let her sleep." A female voice replies and the world goes dark again.
"Hello there, Lizzy." Aiden's evil voice slips through the darkness. I look around in panic, but all that surrounds me is darkness. "I really do have to thank you. Truly. Your blood has allowed me to do great things."
"Show your filthy face, Aiden." I snarl and circle around looking for any signs of life.
"I just want to show you a preview of what's to come, little Queen..." Suddenly, a giant white wolf leaps at me, with teeth easily as big as my face. I scream and fall on my back. Then, the wolf is gone. I look around, my heart beating faster than the average humans could ever dream of.
I hear a laugh and standing before me, is Aiden. His face is mangled and skin is peeling off in chunks. He looks as if he's being eaten alive from the inside out. "If it provides any comfort, I'll be dead by the end of the month. The venom in your blood stream is too strong for my body to handle." He smiles.
"You leave the school alone!" I scream at him.
"Just be prepared by December twenty eighth." He disappears, but his voice still echoes throughout the darkness. "That was only a little extension of my abilities..."
I jolt out of bed, clinging to the sheets for dear life. My breathing comes in ragged gasps and my eyes flicker uneasily around my room.
"'Bout time you've woken up. We were worried sick." Isaac stands up and stretches after getting out of my desk chair.
"What am I doing here? I thought I told you to leave me!" I panic. What if the prophecy kills everyone? It would be all my fault!
"I don't remember that... Anyway, it's not like we could leave you." Mason butts in and makes me jump. He walks out of my bathroom and turns out the light.
"You could have. Now Aiden's going to be looking for me." I mumble and lay back down.
"And we have a whole school on our side." He replies as if it's obvious, which it sort of is.
"You don't know what he's capable of. He can do things even I could never dream of." I whisper.
"That's why we need to practice."
"You don't understand! I only discovered my powers in an emergency! I found out I was a shifter because I was in so much pain, I thought I was being attacked! You guys have no idea." I argue.
"We'll figure it out." Isaac tries to reassure me.
"Where's Blaise? I want to talk with him." I mumble. I hear someone leave and come back about five minutes later. Something lands on my side and immediately, Blaise starts purring.
You have no idea how worried I was about you. He purrs.
I really don't remember all of it. I remember going to the club and that's it. Then when I ran away, I knew I had to go the forest. It was gut instinct. It would have been much better if you were there with me. I whisper back to him, quickly fading back to sleep.
You could have come to your Aunt Kelsey's house. He suggests.
That would be the first place he'd look. He'd be waiting for me. I gently argue.
You're probably right. Now, I heard you killed a werewolf with just one bite? How'd you do it? Interest coats his voice.
Separated her brainstem from her spine. I feel really bad though. She just wanted a pack to be in, and she had five others with her that could have been the beginnings of one. Three left, but two stayed. We killed them. Guilt enters my stomach again.
