... Daniel...
A knock on my door wakes me up. I groan and ignore it. It comes again and doesn't stop until I open it. If it's Elizabeth...
"Can I come in?" Isaac stands at the door, circles under his eyes.
"Err, yeah." I open the door wider so he can come in.
"Who is it?" Mason, my best friend and roommate grumbles and throws his blankets back to get up.
"What are you doing here?" I ask and sit down at my desk.
"There's been an incident..." He trails off. "It appears Brad and Tracy broke into Elizabeth's room."
"What do I care? We broke up three days ago." I snort, but deep down I'm worried.
"She was staked." He ends and it seems like the world has turned itself inside out.
"W-what?" I stutter out and look at Mason. Panic spreads on his face.
"She didn't die, thank God, but it did puncture her heart and lung." Isaac sighs. "She's going into surgery in a few to hopefully get the stake out without causing further harm. They also need to fix her lung." Relief spreads through me, but at the mention that Brad and Tracy did it, cold anger arises in me.
"Is she going to be alright?" Mason asks.
"Hopefully. Blaise got Ms. Keefe and I before she fainted. She made it outside before going unconscious, which is really surprising." Wow. I know I would just sit there and wait for help.
"Who's Blaise?" Mason looks to me and I roll my eyes.
"Her cat. I think he's a Maine-coon. Anyway, they have a connection and can speak to each other in their minds. They're really close." Isaac explains.
"Oh, that's the one that scratched you last night, right?" Mason smirks at me and I want to do nothing more than punch him.
"Yeah, I read your note last night. Don't you think 'dear bloodsucking Vampire' is a little harsh? Or how 'bout 'you have no feelings. You are a monster.'? Oh, and then threatening to kill one of her best friends if you ever saw him again?" Isaac looks at me, his eyes as hard as marbles.
"Really dude? You called her a bloodsucking monster? She can't help it!" Mason looks incredulous. "And what friend did you threaten?"
"Blaise." Isaac answers coldly and picks up the note from the desk that Elizabeth wrote. "She's too sweet." He sighs.
"What?" Mason walks over to Isaac and reads the note over his shoulder. "So she thanks you, and you just go off and tell her how awful she is?" He shakes his head.
"Well, I came here just to inform you. If you would like to visit, go to Ms. Keefe's office. She's in that building somewhere." Isaac leaves.
Mason suddenly starts picking up some dirty clothes off the ground and getting dressed. "What are you doing?"
"Going to go visit her, what do you think?" He finishes dressing and quickly walks out the door, making me feel terrible. I have seriously screwed this up.
