I stood in the bathroom, staring at myself, tying my belt around my waist.
Dare I say I was only in cobra Kai for the black Gi.
The reasons I was fighting for cobra Kai seemed to dwindle down to nothing as I didn't even recognize the person staring back at me. I had been learning cobra Kai for all my life, why now did it feel so different?

This was for my grandpa, I reminded my self. This was for him.

I sighed and walked walked away from the mirror and out the door of the locker room.
"Hey." I turned around to see my dad standing against the wall. I wanted to roll my eyes but couldn't as I looked down at the floor, "hey." I muttered. I felt abandoned by the man yet again in my life.

"Good luck today." Dad stated.
That made me roll my eyes, "you don't mean that." I told him, "if I win, you lose everything."
Dad smiled slightly, "even if I wanted you to lose you couldn't. Your too strong for that."
I smiled slightly as dad punched my shoulder,
"I'm sorry for everything's that's happened Sage but you have to listen to me when I tell you Kreese has gotten in your head." My smile dropped at the fake apologies and the fake happiness in my dads voice.
This was all to get me to turn on my grandpa, to get me to lose for cobra Kai.
I turned and walked away from my dad, "Sage please listen to me! Your- Kreese came to me when you were in the hospital and forced me to sign the custody papers-"

I stopped spinning around to face my dad, "forced? That's what you're going with? Be stuck the pen in your hands and held a gun to your head, forcing you to sign your name." I asked, "no I didn't think so. Own up to your mistakes, don't blame them on others." I told him, yelling in his face.

"I'm not blaming them on Kreese! He told me that you never wanted to live with me and would have much rather been with your aunt. I believed him because days before you were telling me you were moving in with your aunt again. So I signed the papers." Dad yelled.

I scoffed and shook my head, "You don't have to make up excuses when I know you didn't want me." I said lightly, "now if you'll excuse me, I have a fight to win."

I turned away from my dad, walking away towards my team.
Towards Cobra Kai.

"How are you feeling?" Sensei silver asked me. I nodded bouncing up and down lightly, "yeah. Fine." I stated letting my eyes wonder out the door and to the stands of the room.
"You don't look fine. What's on your mind?" He asked.
I turned and looked at him, not stopping my bouncing. "Last year I almost died while I was competing, year before that mom died while I was competing. Third times a charm." I said. Silver put his arms on my shoulder, stopping my bouncing, "nothing bad is going to happen to you, I promise." He stated
I nodded slightly, trusting his word even though I had yet to learn to trust the man.
"Okay are you ready?" He asked as I heard the announcer say the words cobra Kai.
I looked over at grandpa who was at the in front, all the students behind him, motions his head over to us.
I nodded as silver pushed me towards the front and walking out of the tunnel.

Smoke filled my lungs, and it was like a breath of relief. I was in deep need of a cigarette right now and this smoke from the fog machine was at least giving me something.

People cheered for us as the rest of the dojo followed suit.

"I hate this part." I mumbled to Robby even though he was the last person I wanted to be talking to.
"Why's that?" He asked,  looking out into the crowd as he stood next to me.

"Takes fucking forever." I mumbled.
Robby just chuckled lightly, shaking his head at me.

The dojos were dismiss to there sides and I looked at Robby. I couldn't help the small smile that was brought onto my face. I held out my fist, shrugging lightly as if you push all out problems away, "we got a tournament to win." I stated. He hit my fist with his before we walked over to cobra kai.
