"Harry, can we talk?" Kyle appeared out of nowhere and Harry almost choked on his spit as he walked through the corridor of the University after his last lecture. There were barely any students around and that made Harry even more anxious. A shiver went through his spine and a cold fear spread out through his body. What was he supposed to do now? He couldn't possibly scream and run away, could he? Louis was already waiting for him outside and he was sure that when it took too long then Louis would look after him. He took a deep breath before he turned around and looked at Kyle.

"What's the matter?" Harry asked. He focused on looking expressionless while he was internally trembling in fear.

"I wanted to apologize." Kyle said slowly. He looked sincere, but Harry didn't fall for it.

"For what exactly?" Harry asked with a quirked eyebrow.

"For talking to you like I did last week. It wasn't appropriate and I know that now. I'm sorry. I know it's none of my business when Louis has a new...relationship. I won't get in your way." Kyle apologized, but Harry didn't know if he should believe him or not. He contemplated if it was better to deny that they were together or just go with it, but technically they weren't together so he wouldn't exactly lie nor give anything away.

"Louis and I aren't together. We're just friends." He said and saw how confused Kyle looked.

"But you said your boyfriend-?" Kyle said perplexed. Harry sighed. He decided to tell him the truth in hopes to calm things down, so they could finally have their peace.

"I said that because I thought you were interested in me and I wasn't looking for any kind of romance or a relationship."

"So nothing's going on between you and Louis?" Kyle checked with wide eyes. Harry bit his lip as he tried to stay calm when he saw the hopeful look in Kyle's eyes. He balled his fists on his sides before relaxing them again.

"We're friends." Harry just said. He chose his words wisely so he wasn't lying. And he really wasn't. He didn't say that nothing was going on between them, but they were still kind of friends because well, they weren't together.

"Oh. I thought that- did uhm, do you know how we were connected?" Kyle asked nervously. He bit his lip, he didn't know if Harry was lying to him or not, but he just hoped that he told the truth. If he wanted to have another chance with Louis, he had to grin and bear it to get on good terms with Harry in hopes he would tell Louis that he didn't have any ulterior motives and then he could think of a plan of getting him back.

"Uh, yeah. He told me after last week." Harry said hesitantly. He didn't know if it was the right thing to say, but it wasn't like he had much time to gauge his possibilities.

"O-okay. Uhm, I hope this isn't a problem for you, but when you say you are just friends then it should be alright, no?"

"No, it's fine." Harry smiled forcefully.

"Good. I'm glad." Kyle breathed out relieved. "Do you think we could hang out sometime? I would like to make up for my behaviour." Harry gulped. He didn't expect that. What should he do now?

Harry didn't get the chance to reply when he saw Kyle's face changing drastically and then he heard heavy footsteps behind him. He spun around and saw Louis with an angry expression on his face approaching them with fast steps.

"I fucking tol-" He started incredulously, but Harry quickly stepped in.

"Lou, it's okay. Everything's fine." He said soothingly. Louis stopped in his tracks and looked at Harry puzzled before his gaze wandered to Kyle and he studied him precisely before looking back at Harry who looked at him pointedly. Louis squinted his eyes and they had a staring battle for a few seconds. Harry eventually averted his eyes from Louis to Kyle and smiled slightly. "We should go. I see you around, alright?" He said with a forced smile and Kyle nodded slowly.
