CHAPTER 53

BROKEN (Sebastian's POV)

It's been six days. Ganoon katagal ko na siyang hindi nakikita. I've no idea what she's been doing or where she's staying. I've visited their mansion on the third day of her absence pretending to look for Andrius kahit alam kung hindi na siya doon tumutuloy in hope that I would see her, pero hindi din daw siya umuuwi doon according to their house help.

I tried to call her once using my new phone and sim number but she never answered. Hindi rin siya pumupunta sa mga usual hang outs ng grupo niya kahit na nandoon ang mga ito.

I can't directly ask Andrius about her because I know that he will ask me in return and I don't know what to tell him.

At ngayon nga, Alonzo's mansion is swarming with their relatives and close friends including my family to celebrate with her Dad and Tita Andrea's upcoming wedding three days from now. I brought Grizelle with me because I want to prove something just in case Gabrielle will appear tonight.

"Guys, let's stay here for a while mamaya na tayo pumasok sa loob." Si Andrius na nangunang umupo sa isa sa mga iron garden chair.

"Sure, mas presko nga dito kung dito kayo nag set-up ng buffet eh." Si Issa na agad na ring umupo. Tahimik lang din kaming sumunod na inukopa ang iba pang bakanteng upuan, kumpleto ang ming grupo at masaya naman ang bawat isa na makita at makasama si Grizelle na karamihan sa kanila ay kilala na rin siya since college.

"Kung hindi lang kayo pupunta, I won't waste my time here."

"Come on dude, he's still your father. The best thing you can do now is to forgive him kasi wala narin naman kayong magagawa, they're getting married." Seryosong wika ni Dave.

"It's not that easy. Lalo ngayong nalaman ko kung ano ang mga pinagdaanan ng kapatid ko sa kagaguhang ginawa ng aming ama. Fuck, I've idolized him for too long tapos malalaman kung ganoon ang ginawa niya?" We all look at him in curiosity dahil sa galit na nakarehistro sa kanyang mukha.

"Why? What happened to Alex?" Rex asked. Kumuyom ang kanyang kamao at napabuga ng hangin.

"I didn't know until recently. If I hadn't witnessed my sister broke down because of anxiety attack I won't believe it. To think that she'd been suffering since she was nine years old! Alone! God damnit!"

"Why?" Kuryosong tanong ni Nicole na alam kung iyon din ang katanungan ng lahat.

"She witnessed mom and dad's fight before mom had a heart attack, and every time she was reminded of our mother, she's suffering from anxiety attack. At nilihim niya ang lahat ng ito maging sa mga grandparents namin and dealt with it alone."

Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig sa aking narinig. My Gabrielle. I remembered her the first time I saw her in the abandoned road by the cliff and how lost she was. Damn.

"Kaya pala ganoon na lang ang galit niya kay Dad, and I felt like a useless brother because I didn't ask her, I didn't bother to look and observe closely when she became so silent and suddenly wants to go away from home."

"Don't be hard on yourself Andrius, you were just a kid then." Ani Michelle na hinahaplos ang likod ni Andrius.

"But my sister was younger. She was traumatized by what she witnessed. Lumaki kaming masaya ang aming pamilya, maalaga at malambing si Dad sa amin at kay mommy. Then suddenly, makikita niyang nag-aaway sila dahil sa isang babae at sa mismong harapan niya ay pinagbuhatan ng kamay ang aming ina. On that same day, our mom passed away. There was blood she said..."

Napayuko si Andrius sa pagtulo ng kanyang luha. Walang sino man ang nakaimik sa amin dahil sa mga narinig. My chest tightened upon hearing what Andrius said. My heart bleed for little fragile Gabrielle. Kaya pala ganoon na lang kasidhi ang kagustuhan niyang makaganti.
