Brooke pov:
The lights, sound of music, and laughter from the boardwalk brighten the night. I listened to the concert from afar. I walked from the outskirts of the crowd; the beach looked inviting. I walked closer to the water and dipped my feet in cool water; the smell of sea salt filled my nose as I sat on the cold sand. The noise of the waves claimed me from the music and loud crowds until it was interrupted by the noise of bike engines. I looked towards the noise as four boys dismounted their bikes. The youngest one caught my eye, with blonde curly hair, crazy clothes, and a Cheshire cat smile.
Of course, I wasn't boy-crazy. But this boy was different; his jacket was full of other fabrics and patches, and his clothes differed from Sam's. The Cheshire cat boy looked at me. I looked away quickly as the other three started to jab him.
The sky grew darker as I realized I should head back to find Sammy or Michael. I grabbed my sandals, jumped to my feet, and walked back towards the stairs where I came from. Only then was my path blocked by the four boys. "Hey there, sweets," the curly hair one greeted; my cheek began to turn red; I looked down at the cold sand. "Hi," I mustered up. I looked up at him through my eyelashes as his grin grew wider. "I'm Marko,"
"Brooke"
"Pleasure to meet you,"
"Same,"
The one with the long blonde hair began to speak, "I'm Paul, this is Dwayne, and that's David." he explained. He pointed to the one with long black-haired known as Dwayne. David had platinum blond hair that was cut to a short mullet. As they greeted me, I smiled at the boys; Marko began to speak again. "How come we have never seen you around before?"
"I just moved here; it's my first night around here," I explained; he flashed his Cheshire grin and grabbed my hand. "In that case, How about we make this more memorable." he offered; I smiled at him. The nervousness left, then it hit me. What would Michael and Sam think when they couldn't find me?
I blew the thought away as I wanted to have some fun. "I guess you better," I challenged him. he tilted his head; his earring reflected the firelight. "Is that a challenge?" I like to challenge people, and I found this a game. "Maybe," his eyes were darker with curiosity until he spoke.
"I accept," and tugged me towards his motorbike; the others jumped onto their own. He patted the seat behind him. "Ever rode one of these before?" he asked. I shook my head no, but I got on anyway. "Then this is gonna be exciting for you." I got a flash of his smile as he said those words. You're probably thinking, what do you think you're doing? You're going to ride a bike with a stranger; you only know for five minutes. But where's the fun in that?
"You better hang on tight,"
"Sure I will,"
Then he started his bike's motor and began to shake under me; as I grabbed him out of fear, my hand touched his bare cold skin. It shocked me that his skin was cold, especially from the warm summer night. He didn't care where I placed my hand; we drove fast, and the wind rushed through my hair.
The boys' laughter and cheers brought me more excitement; I began to laugh and cheer with them. We stopped at Hudson's Buff, taking in the beautiful waves and the lighthouse; it wasn't foggy, and I could see a gorgeous view of the water. "Thank you, Marko, for this wonderful night,"
"Anytime, Brooke," he responded, grinning down at me.
