"Yeah, but uh, I've got something for you" he told me, moving his left hand to the front of his body. I hadn't noticed until now that he had hidden it behind his back. He moved his right hand up to my ear and moved my hair out of the way, then carefully placed a flower there, setting my hair back in its place to help keep the flower from moving. Even from the small act, my cheeks blushed a light pink. "What's that?" I asked, although more referring to the type of flower that he put in my hair. "It's a primrose, I thought it would look nice on you. If you don't like it I'll take it out"he told me, reaching up to take the flower back. I quickly stopped him, grabbing his hand lightly and holding it in place. "It's ok Camilo, I love it" I told him, smiling at him to ease his worries, and it seemed to work as he moved his hand away and started to signal that we start walking. "Well, let's go then!" He exclaimed, and we started walking up to his house.

The hours I spent there felt like they went by in minutes. Every member of his family I met was kind to me, treating me as one of their own. Though, it did seem like there was a bit of tension, and I couldn't help but think it had something to do with the upcoming gift ceremony. It would be the one where Antonio would get his gift, or at least that is what we all were hoping for. As the last ceremony didn't go as we had all planned, what with Mirabel not getting her gift, we all wanted Antonio to be able to get his. While I was there, me and Camilo spent hours together, talking about everything and nothing. We talked about family, what we liked, what we disliked, things we found funny and so on. The two of us really seemed to click, and I could see the two of us being good friends for a long time. When it was around nine, I decided it was time for me to head back home, although we made it a deal we would hang out more another day.

Time skip - 2 months later
I woke as I did most mornings, sun spilling through my window, waking me up instantly and setting me up for the day. Today was no ordinary day though. It was Antonio's gift ceremony. The first one in a decade. The one that would tell us all of the Madrigal family would have any more gifts. Everyone was worried, or nervous, or scared, or excited. I was one of those who were nervous. For the past two months I had been spending time with the Madrigal family, so I knew how much this would mean to them.

I'd been told that we needed to stick up on a few different types of fabric that day, so after taking care of a few clients I went down to the market. It was quite a long walk to the specific stall that sold the bolts of fabric that we needed. When I got there, I went around and chose the fabric I would need. With the amount I was carrying it was hard for me to walk around without bumping into something or almost falling over. I paid the owner what was needed and then headed out.

Walking in the streets was harder than I expected, and I was constantly almost bumping into different people. By the time I'd only gotten half way there I already had to sit down as my arms were tired from carrying everything. It was at times like these I envied the gifts some of the Madrigals had, as I'm sure everyone in the town did.

"Do you want some help?" I heard behind me. When I turned, I wasn't surprised to see Camilo standing there holding an arm out for me to grab. "That would help a lot actually" I replied, grabbing a few of the rolls of fabric while he grabbed the others. We walked over to my family's shop and set everything down. By the time we'd gotten there, everything had already been shut down and my parents were preparing everything that they'd need for the night. Me and Camilo sat down on the stools that we had in the store to see and began chatting. "Are you nervous for tonight?" He asked me, and I nodded in response. "What about you?" I asked, although I already knew the answer. "Terrified. If anything goes wrong tonight then who knows what's going to happen. Our miracle will be gone, the town will be worried, the family in shambles", he placed his head in his arms and laid both down onto his knees "everything has to go perfectly".

"Everything's going to be fine, and if you need anyone to talk to, I'm here ok, I'm always here for you" I told him, bringing him in for a hug to comfort him. "Thank you" he said. "What did we say about that, you don't need to thank me" I retorted in a half annoyed, half joking tone that made him laugh. After a while he decided to pipe up "Would you like to come with me to help with the setting up, we could use some extra hands". "Sure, why not".
