Within a few minutes Dolores came back into her room, Camilo following quickly behind her. They slammed the door shut quickly but extremely quietly. "That girl came up to me again. Tried to tell me you were bad news or something. It was lucky Dolores found me, she was trying to drag me away from the party" Camilo whined, dragging his body towards me and laying his head on my lap. "I don't know what's wrong with her. She's always been clingy to you but this is a bit extreme" Dolores whispered, leaning her body against the doorframe. "She's been clingy to me before now?" Camilo asked. "You oblivious idiot" Dolores whispered again, earning a soft laugh from me and a grunt from Camilo.

The three of us stayed there for a while, making small talk and passing the time. It was a while later, I never knew how long because it was hard to tell the time in their rooms, when Isabela entered and told me my parents wanted to talk to me. I knew they would be telling me it was time for all of us to go home so I quickly said my goodbyes to Camilo and Dolores. When I got downstairs I noticed my parents talking with Señora Julietta and Señora Pepa. I eased myself into the conversation slowly, not wanting to bring attention to myself, though I was shocked to hear what they were talking about.

"They're going to be a perfect couple aren't they?" my mother said, and everyone else there began to nod. I knew they were talking about me and Camilo, why else would they be talking about it with my parents. "And they've been friends for so long, it's about time they finally admitted they have feelings for each other. It was obvious from the start" my father added, quickly followed by Pepa saying "Even we here noticed it, the two of them would spend hours in Camilo's room together in the evenings. We had to have Dolores make sure that they weren't doing anything they weren't supposed to be". All four adults burst into a chorus of laughter, and I gave a slight cough so they all knew I was there.

"Oh, hello Y/n, we were just talking about you" my mother told me, to which I nodded with a slight nod and a side eye. My father laughed at my antics, although my mother only shook her head. "I'm guessing we're going home right?" I asked, and was surprised to hear what my father said next. "Well, me and your mother are going home now, but you can stay here tonight if you want. We've already discussed it with Pepa and Julietta, and both of them said it would be fine" he said, using his hand to signal to Señora Pepa and Señora Julieta nodding.

"You mean it?" I asked them in shock. They had never let me have a sleepover at someone else's house before, throughout my childhood they would always say no and that the other person would have to sleep at our house. This was exciting for me because I would get to spend the night with the Madrigal children, and now that they seemed to be more like how they wanted to act, I knew the night would be a lot of fun. "You will have to sleep in Isabela, Mirabel, Dolores or Luisa's room though. I don't trust you being in Camilo's room all night" my mother added with a smirk. I scoffed at her, knowing what she was thinking would ever happen, or at least it wouldn't happen yet. We were still only 15, so it was illegal.

"I'm going to go back now alright, I'll see you both tomorrow" I told my parents. "We love you" my mother yelled quietly. "I love you too" I responded, then ran back up to Dolores' room. I could still hear voices coming from inside so I walked back in. Almost all of the younger Madrigals were inside, with Antonio being the exception, probably with his father or his animals somewhere else so we could have fun without worrying we would be a bad influence on him. Mariano was also here, sitting next to Dolores. She was the first to notice my being back, and gave a slight head tilt as if to ask 'why are you back?'. "My parents said I could sleep here if I wanted" I told them, and Camilo came rushing over to me. "You can sleep in my room!" he exclaimed, lifting me up into the air in joy. He was so adorable when he was excited, so it killed me to have to tell him the truth.

"The catch was that I have to sleep in one of the girls rooms" I told him, and his face dropped slightly. "Well, we can stay up really late and then you come into my room first thing in the morning" he said, a sad tone covering the joy that was in his voice before. "You can sleep in my room Y/n, I wake up pretty early, so I'll wake you up when I do and then you can spend the rest of the morning with Camilo" Isabela said, turning her head around to look at the two of us. "That would be nice Isa, thank you" I thanked her, making my way down to where I was sitting before.

We all stayed there for a few hours, talking and playing games. I spent most of it in Camilo's lap thanks to a dare from Mirabel. Neither of us were complaining, he only pulled me closer to him and hugged me from behind. Before long though everyone got tired, wanting to go back to their own rooms to sleep. I was going to sleep in Isabela's room and Mariano was going to sleep in Camilo's, both of us not wanting to leave the party and spend time with those we loved. Camilo gave me a soft kiss on the cheek to say goodbye before he and Mariano went into his room, a slight ruckus being heard by everyone after the door closed.

Isabela made me a small bed made out of flowers and vines for me to sleep on when we went into her room. "I know it seems more like what I used to make, but this is going to be a lost sofer and easy to sleep on than spiky and carnivorous plants" she joked, and I laughed at it, knowing that she was showing her true sense of humour for the first time in her life.

She gave me a small set of pyjamas to sleep in, though it was a little big on me compared to her. The two of us made our way to our beds, saying goodnight to each other and then laying down to sleep. Isabela clapped her hands to have some of her plants, the ones that gave the light to the room, close so that we could sleep.

I drifted off into sleep quite easily, comforted by the sweet and chaotic smells of Isa's room. I thought I'd woken up much quicker than I actually had, though I found myself in my room at home. I was surprised to say the least, but then I realised how this was a dream, and that I was actually at the Madrigal's. What was this called, when you knew that you were dreaming and had full control over your dreams? Lucid dreaming? That was what I heard some of the other people in town called it.

I looked around my room quickly, though I was surprised to see how it was different. I seemed, smaller? When I got off of the bed it was obvious that I had shrunk, I hardly reached the top of the mattress with my new size. It was odd, I didn't really know what was going on, and it scared me slightly. Then I noticed something familiar. Smoke and debris flowing in through the window. It made me cough up quite a bit. Then I noticed the room, it was a mess. Clothes scattered and furniture toppled over. It was the events of yesterday all over again. But something seemed off. It wasn't right. If this was a memory then I would be my normal height, but I wasn't. I grabbed a pair of shoes, but even though they looked too small for me before I put them on, they fit me perfectly.

I ran outside, towards the Madrigal's house. Everything else seemed to be normal, the cracks in the streets, and no people like in my dream before. But everything changed when I got to the house. It was different, nothing like the Casita I was in now. The size was different, and windows and walls and rooms were in the wrong places. I stood at the front of the house in shock at what I was seeing, but when I snapped back to reality I heard what made me even more confused. It was my mother, screaming. Then it hit me, the first dream I had, it had someone screaming in it, but when I actually saw the house crumbling there was screaming yes, but not outright screams. There were people screaming for Mirabel to come back, but no one was just screaming.

Then it was even more confusing again. I heard my father, someone who was not present at the house at all screaming as well, but this time I heard words. "Y/N" he called. My name, he was calling my name, but why. I was about to walk closer to him, hoping by seeing his face that I would know what was going on, but just like the last dream, I scraped my heel on a rock that was on the ground, and I woke up again with a shot.
