Everyone turned away from the crash to protect their eyes from all the dust and debris. When we turned back we all noticed the effect of what happened. The building was almost completely destroyed, only parts of the bottom floor still standing. We all began to walk around, seeing the effects of the damage closer up to see if anything could be salvaged. Señora Julietta went up to Mirabel, who was being covered by furniture and doors, probably the last thing the house did before all of the magic was gone.

Me and Camilo walked around the far side of the house, trying to find anything that could be salvaged from the wreckage. "My powers, they're gone. What about Antonio, what's he going to do? He said, worrying about himself for only a moment before talking about his brother, it was sweet, and quite selfless, but I knew that deep down he was worrying about himself.

"It's going to be ok, I'm here for you" I reassured him, but the hurt and scared look in his eyes never went away, the only things changing being the smile he wore, forcing it through so that I wouldn't worry. "Where's Mirabel?" The two of us heard being yelled from Señora Julietta. We all looked around, hoping that she had just walked around the wreckage a little, but she wasn't here. She wasn't anywhere near here. She'd disappeared.

Everyone went into a panic, running around and looking everywhere for Mirabel. We were all told to go in different directions, calling for her and hoping that she'd answer. I was told to go back home, wait until they found her because this wasn't my problem to deal with. Despite my pleas that I could help I eventually went back home. When I got there, my parents were waiting at the table, worried and grim looks on their faces. They looked up to see me as the door opened, eyes lighting up and tears beginning to form when they saw me.

"Where did you go! We were worried sick!" My father yelled, pulling me and my mother tightly into a hug. "I went to the Madrigal's home. That's where all of the crashes were coming from. Their house came crumbling down" I told them, my voice hoarse as I told them. I was still in shock from watching what had happened. "We're so glad that you're ok. Are you hurt?" My mother asked, and I responded with a shake of the head. "Do you want to tell us what happened?" My mother asked. Looking at my face, which was pale and pasty, they pulled me towards a chair to sit down, then placed a glass of water in front of me to help with my throat. I gulped down the drink, taking my time as my parents waited for an explanation. I knew that I could say no, and then they wouldn't ask about it again, but it would be better to be truthful.

"I had a dream last night. Exactly what happened today. I knew what was going on so I went to their house. Apparently there was fighting, or at least that's what I think, and then cracks formed, just like Mirabel said. Then the house came crumbling down, everything being destroyed. They all lost their gifts as well. And then Mirabel went missing and I was told to come back home" I told them truthfully. "Mirabel is missing?" My father asked, and I nodded in response. "She left not long after the house came down. I was going to help them find her but they told me it wasn't my problem to deal with" I said, pullling my legs to my chest and leaning back.

"I see. Well, they don't want us to help find Mirabel it seems. But that doesn't mean that we can't help them at all. Wait here, I won't be long" my mother said, grabbing a coat and walking out of the house. "Where's she going?" I asked my father,  a small chuckle coming from him in response. "Let's just say, we can't leave them without a house now can we".
