By the time me and Camilo reached La casa Madrigal the preparations for the evening were in full swing. People were all around the place doing their part in preparing. Camilo went to ask his abuela what the two of us could do to help. He was asked to wait with her and she could tell him when he was needed while I was told to help Señora Julietta with plating up any food that was going to be served tonight, and then bring it out so anyone would be able to easily find anything to eat later in the night.
After a few hours of helping with many different tasks to help we were ready to welcome the townsfolk into the house. As the night got darker, more and more people flooded the house, everyone having to move closer to each other to accommodate the amount. I was like anyone else in town, walking around and paying attention to all of the family using their gifts to entertain everyone. I walked around to find my parents because I didn't want to spend the next hour or so on my own. I would be spending the time with Camilo, but he was at the door greeting the people who came in, and I didn't want to bother him.
Me and my parents were socialising with different people that knew us from our work, although the conversations that they were having were boring to me and I wanted to get away. I noticed Isabela was standing on her own at this point, probably overwhelmed by the amount of people that were surrounding her before. I snuck away from my parents by giving them a fake excuse, and sped over to Isabela.
"Hey, did you not like all of that attention that you had before?" I asked her, Isabela raising her head to stare at me. "Yeah, I needed a breather. You can stay though. You're a lot calmer than everyone else here" she told me, swirling her drink around in her cup as a way to distract herself. "This is really boring right now. Nobody I talk to is here except you" I told her, earning a light chuckle in response. "What about Camilo? You talk to him a lot. If I'm being honest I'm surprised the two of you aren't in a corner by yourselves making out" she joked, although heat rose to my cheeks making them a bright red. Even though I'd only been close friends with him for a few months, I had grown to like him quite a lot, though I'd never said anything in fear of him saying he didn't like me and ruining our friendship. "I don't like him like that Isa" I retorted while attempting to hide my blushing face. "Your face says otherwise" she said, then looked behind me and smirked.
"Hey you two, how's it going" I heard in a voice that made my heart flutter. "Hey Camilo, what are you doing here?" Isabela asked him, a smirk growing on her face. "Nothing much, just saw the two of you and decided to come and chat for a bit. Is something up?" He questioned, making Isabela's smile grow wider. "Oh, nothing much. Although, I think we should talk about your feelings for each other. I mean, everyone seems to know how you both feel except for each other, isn't that right?" She told the both of us, then flounced away as light as a feather. Me and Camilo then looked at each other, both of our faces red and flushed. I was the first to turn away, looking in the direction that Isabela went, wanting to cause her pain for saying how I liked him. Then it hit me. She said 'each other'. That meant that he liked me back. Didn't it?
