The two of us spent about an hour there painting, although I only really helped him mix the colours he needed for everyone's skin and clothes. He made sure that what he painted this time was how everyone was now, his tío Bruno looking more approachable and awkward, and Isabela looking happier and more comfortable in her new dress. I already knew she would be asking me to make the dress she was wearing now out of fabric because the colours would wash out really easily.

"Hey, why were you jealous earlier? Nothing happened to me so why were you jealous?" I asked him, and his body stiffened slightly at the comment. "Well- uh, it's a stupid reason, you'll just think I'm stupid because of it" he said, refusing to look at me and only staring at the blocky shapes he was painting to give him an idea of how the proportions would look and where everyone would be placed. "Come on, tell me. I won't think that it's stupid Camilo" I told him, then he looked at me softly.

"That girl from earlier, she made me think. It was pretty easy for her to almost take me away from you, what if something like that happened to you? I know that you're strong and you wouldn't let someone take you away from me that easily, but still, it made me a bit jealous and a little anxious" he confessed, hardly able to keep eye contact with me.

I walked over to him, embracing him in a hug from behind. He turned around quickly, not breaking the hug, and pulled me into his chest. It was warm and comforting for the both of us, him running his hands through my hair and me rubbing my hand up and down his back.

"Aww, look at that, it's so cute" we heard Isabela squeal from the side of us, but neither of us cared about it. We didn't pull away, didn't stop holding each other. After hearing the rustling of feet coming towards us we pulled away from each other, though he made sure to keep his hand holding mine, fingers interlocked.

"What was it Isabela?" Dolores asked, popping her head out of the door. "The two of them were hugging, isn't childhood love cute?" she said, and Dolores nodded in response. "We're not children!" Camilo exclaimed, and the two girls started laughing in response. "Well you're not an adult either, you're way too immature, Y/n not so much, but still, you're both children" she retorted, going back into the house while Dolores stayed outside a minute longer. "Food is going to be served soon. You should come back in" she told us, then followed in Isabela's footsteps and went back inside.

"We should go inside, I'm dying for some food" Camilon said, leaning back slightly and stretching. It made him look taller than normal, something he did often to make him look taller because he was quite short. The sunset was a beautiful backdrop as well, making the browns in his skin warmer and giving them golden accents. "Earth to Y/n!" I heard someone yelling at me. I zoned back into reality to see Camilo standing right in front of my face snapping his fingers at me.

"Sorry, I zoned out there" I apologised. "Aw, cute. You zone out whenever you look at me" he praised, and I scoffed at him, earning a chuckle from him. I tried to stop myself from laughing back, but his laugh was contagious, earning a small giggle from me as well. "Come on, let's go inside to eat!" he exclaimed, pulling me back inside his house with him. Not nearly as many people were here now as there were earlier in the evening, many probably having to go home to take care of kids or to sleep off the exhaustion of working on the house all day.

One of the tables in the house was set up against a wall and had many different types of food on it, all set out so that anyone could take as many as they wanted. "Wait here" Camilo told me, walking away behind a pillar in a corner where no one was standing. After a moment he emerged again, but this time he had shapeshifted into his tío Bruno. When he came over to me he whispered "After him having to live in the walls for ten years, they won't stop him from taking as much food as he wants". He then went over to the tabe, grabbing a plate and piling food onto it.

I followed suit, grabbing a plate and putting some food on, although I didn't put as much food on as he did. I wasn't that hungry anyway, and if I wanted more I would just steal some from his plate. He loved his tía Julietta's cooking, so he would always have more than he could handle so he would have more to snack on.

His plan was going well, too well in my opinion, and I was right in thinking something was going to go wrong when Mirabel came walking up to us. She started talking to who she thought was Bruno, and to make it more realistic, I moved away so that it would look like I was looking for Camilo. I wandered around aimlessly, checking constantly to see if Camilo and Mirabel were done talking yet, before going back for another lap around the house to pass time.

It was my fourth lap of walking around the house when I saw the girl from earlier. By the time I had noticed her it was obvious she already had her eyes on me. She stormed over to me, if she had Pepa's gift a storm cloud would be over her head right now. "Where's your boyfriend then?" She barked sourly. I decided to try and keep calm in the situation, not wanting to cause a scene when the family had only just got their house back. "He's busy" I told her, not lying because I couldn't be bothered to come up with a satisfying enough lie for someone who didn't deserve my time of day.

"Really now. He's not with some other girl is he? I mean, looking at you, I wouldn't blame him" she snorted, looking up and down at me as she made the comment. I kept my cool, although her comments were starting to get to me. "I know where he is," I insisted, though the calmness of my voice beginning to become sour like hers. "Are you that controlling of him? I bet he doesn't even like you and is trying to get an excuse to get away" she taunted. I was about to argue back with her, losing my cool and almost yelling, but I was pulled away by Dolores, pulled into her room and away from that girl.

"Don't think about her, she's been like this ever since I can remember. She's always had a thing for Camilo, but he's never really been interested in her" she muttered. "That would explain why she wants me gone then" I retorted, and Dolores nodded in return. "Don't worry about what she said. You're not being controlling, you're actually letting him be more free. And what she said about the looks, well, she's said that to anyone she's ever seen within a two foot radius of him, including me, Isabela and Mirabel, so it's not about how you look, it's more of a superiority thing" she told me, making sure I knew not to think about what that girl said.

"I'll go find Camilo and tell him you're here. Stay here so you don't have another run in with her ok. I'll be back soon" she whispered, then went out of the room and back to the party, leaving me alone in the room.
