In this story, all the characters are aged up so the story makes more sense.
(Y/N)'s age is 24
(Y/N) POV
----------
The sound of my phone ringing woke me up with a start. "Ugh... Fucks sake, who the hell calls at 6 in the morning?" I grumbled to myself, sleep evident in my voice.
Oh great... It was (R/N).
"The hell does this bitch want? How did they get my number..?" I was confused, and honestly a bit grumpy as I answered the phone.
"Hello..?" My voice came out as a low grumble.
"Hello (Y/N)!~ I hope you don't mind, but I convinced Director Crowley to switch our patients!" (R/N)'s voice was chipper and as annoying as ever.
"Wh- you did what?!"
"I got our patients switched!"
Honestly, my patients at the asylum I worked at weren't the best. Because of some of them, my body was riddled with scars and bruises. Though, some of them were okay...
To be completely fair, I was somewhat glad they were switching with me.
"Ugh, alright, but let it be known I don't agree to this. At all." I said, trying to sound annoyed.
(R/N) laughed. "Oh, I don't care about what you have to say. I'm just exited for my new patients!~"
I scoff. And not wanting to hear them yabber on any longer, I hung up and put my phone on my bedside desk.
"Oh what a delightful start to my day..." I said as I got up out of bed. No point in trying to get back to sleep at this point.
I groggily get into my uniform, a basic, almost stereotypical doctor/therapist outfit. It was a bit early, the sun had barely risen, but that means I get more time to myself.
Time skip, 1 hour later
As I pulled into the carpark of my workplace, music droning softly from the stereo, my whole body shuddered. I was a bit nervous about the new patients.
What if they were worse than my old ones? That would be hard to beat, but it's possible.
I walked into my workplace, Night Raven Asylum, getting ready for a long day. "Ughhh, fuck my life.." I murmur, before using my keycard to unlock the door and step in.
The receptionist, Kira, looked at me as I walked in, with a sort of pitiful look.
"Mornin' (Y/N). I was told you were made switch with (R/N)? I'm sorry to hear that." She said with a chuckle.
"Why are you sorry?" I asked, slightly shifting my head to the side.
"Well... They had 21 patients."
My eyes widened at her words, my mouth slightly agape with words that failed to come out. I was shocked, obviously.
"O-okay then... Can I have their files, please?" I asked in a shaky voice, trying not to have a god damn aneurism. Kira nodded and handed me a very thick folder.
She looked up at me before speaking in a hushed voice "Be safe..."
I nodded before walking down the hall and opening the massive folder to the first patient.
-- Patient was admitted to the asylum by his older brother, and was screaming incoherently as his brother walked away. Patients brother says that at random times at night, Ace would start screaming until someone came to him. Patient has also been seen trying to manipulate and kill people.
-- Warnings: Don't bring up his brother, don't get to close with patient and don't hurt the people he is close with.
----------
After I finish reading Ace's file, I decide the best course of action would be to set some alarms to schedule the patients time. It's the best course of action.
I finish them on my way to Ace's room. I hum to myself and turned to his door, number 139.
As i stepped into his room, I saw him sitting on his bed playing with the sheets. When he noticed me standing in the doorway, he looked confused.
"Hello Ace, my name is (Y/N). I'm your new doctor starting today." I smiled at the red headed boy, hoping i didn't come off as threatening.
As I stepped towards him, he rolled his eyes with a smirk. "Oh yeah, the director finally realise nothing was being fixed?" He spoke sarcastically, resting his elbow on his knees.
"Tell me, how did that other doctor even get their licence?" He spoke with a smirk, his tone practically dripping with malice.
I chuckle softly at his comment, before deciding to act a bit more professional. Ace's expression softens slightly, as he raises an eyebrow.
"Well, nonetheless, I will be the one to do these interviews from now on, I'm sure you know how it goes..." As I prattle on about what I'm going to be doing during these visits, Ace seems to be observing me.
He smirks lightly after my explanation. "Huh. Glad to know you're actually competent." He spoke with a slight mocking tone, but I chose to ignore it.
"I suppose so-" Suddenly, my phone alarm goes off, signalling the end of my meeting with Ace.
The redhead jumps slightly at the noise. "Sevens-" He exclaims, before frowning.
I shut of the alarm, before turning to Ace. "Sorry about that. But that means I'm into my next patient now, okay?" I say with a slight smile.
His expression changes. "You're... Going already?"
"Yes, but I promise I'll be back. It's my job after all."
He's quiet for a moment. "Cool. Not that I'd care if you did or not."
I huff in light amusement, before turning to walk out. "It was nice meeting you. I'll come and check on you tomorrow, promise." I say before closing the door behind me.
Onto the next one.
Ace's POV
As I watched them leave, a confusing feeling settled in my chest. That was... Something.
They were... Nice. Well- Not that I cared. All the doctors are the same in here...
