Before I start, I just want to apologise for the lack of story for a long while. A lot has been happening in my personal life (that I won't divulge,) so I haven't had much motivation. I hope this part is okay ^^
-----------------------------
"So... The small robot is his brother?" Elijah asks, sounding slightly astonished underneath his cool exterior.
"I just don't question it anymore." I say with a sigh, looking up at him. He looked slightly impatient, almost as if he had been expecting something else...
"Hey, you okay?" I ask after a moment, as we enter the Diasomnia wing.
"Huh? Oh, yes. I'm fine. Just... Thinking." He murmurs, before falling back into a comfortable silence.
I have a strange feeling in my gut as I observe him. There's something mysterious about him. Usually, people took months to get a job here, I certainly did. And Crowley always warned people at least a week before they'd be getting a secondary...
But that wasn't the thing to worry about right now. You could already see your group sitting at a table.
Sebek is guiding Tsunotarou to the table that Lilia and Silver reside at. It's a sweet sight.
I turn to look at Elijah, but he's already by the wall, notebook out. He's certainly efficient.
I sigh, as I walk over to the table. Lilia lights up at the sight of me, moving to the side and patting the seat next to him. "There you are! We were worried you would not be joining us today!"
I smile apologetically as I take a seat, Lilia's leg pressing against mine. I didn't mind, I'd come to learn he was quite touchy.
Silver smiles at me from his seat at Lilia's other side, Sebek regards me with a nod. And Tsunotarou?
The warmest smile I'd ever seen on someone spreads on his face. "It is good to see you again.."
I can't help but smile fondly at his genuine tone. "I feel the same, it's been too long since our last appointment."
The usual questions were exchanged, asking how everyone had been, Lilia attempting to convince me to take off their collars, and getting Sebek to take his meds.
Halfway through, Silver nodded off, head resting in his arms.
"How's he been?" I ask, as Sebek clears his throat.
"He has been well! Much more aware and awake as of late!"
I smile, writing a note of that. That's a very good sign.
"And what about you?" Tsunotarou asks, his velvety tone catching you off guard. "How has put dearest doctor been faring?"
"Oh y'know. The usual stuff, wrangling patients, looking for missing medical supplies, showing around newbies..." I rub the back of my neck as I talk.
Silver lifts his head up after a moment. "Mh... I heard bout that..." He murmurs sleepily. "Saw someone sneaking around with scissors in their hand last night."
My eyes widen. "Really? Did you see who it was?"
"No... Sorry doctor..." Silver murmurs, as Lilia gently strokes his head.
"Ah... It's fine." I try to hide my disappointment, and slight fear of the mystery in my voice, staying neutral. "Have you three seen anything suspicious of the sort? Missing equipment, suspicious people?"
"Unfortunately not!" Sebek says, sitting stiff as a board.
Lilia solemnly shakes his head. "I'm afraid I haven't... Which is surprising considering how sneaky I am myself!" He chuckles at his own words.
Tsunotarou thinks for a moment, ears angling down. "I... Even if I had, I do not remember."
My expression softens. Part disappointed, part resigned. "It's fine, thankyou anyway."
-----------------------------
I wave goodbye as I head back down the hall, Elijah trailing me.
"... Well, that certainly was informative." He says, observing me.
I smile up at him. It's slightly forced, but I didn't want to seem unfriendly by just scowling at him. "Yeah, pretty hectic for your first day."
"Yes..." His eyes wander elsewhere. "... Hectic."
