A human's touch...

I trudge out of the Pomfiore sector, looking over the last of my files. I let out a relieved sigh, happy to see I only had... around 5 patients left.

The next wing was 'Ignihyde,' which I only seemed to have one room in.

-- Name : Idia Shroud

-- Age: 27

-- Disorders: Trauma Induced Depression, Severe Anxiety, Avoidant Personality Disorder, BPD, Obsessive Love Disorder, ASD, Paranoid Schizophrenia.

-- Patient was admitted to the asylum by his parents. Idia was incredibly distressed at being in the space of the asylum, and hated when anyone at all tried to interact with him. He was dropped off with a robot named Ortho, which Idia refers to as his brother. Ortho has a level 4 keycard built into his system, meaning he can open every door in the facility.

-- Warnings: ALWAYS knock on the door before entering. Keep your voice soft. If Idia doesn't speak to you, talk to Ortho. Don't get too close to him without his direct permission.

Okay, out of all the patients I've ever had, none of them had a robot companion thingy.

That's pretty cool. I wonder if he built it himself?

I'll have to ask once he's comfortable with me.

I eventually reach his room, taking note of the decor in the hallway. It was a lot darker than the rest of the asylum...

And I used to have a patient in this wing.

Ruthien Moro. Or Ruth, as everyone calls him. I don't know why he was placed here specifically, and I've never had time to ask.

All I know, and that I managed to get out of Ruth, is that he's friends with Moon, and they tag-teamed their doctors while they were together, making them a real trouble to work with...

Oh well, don't have to worry about that piece of work anymore. I have new patients to look after.

I finally arrive at my next patient's room, gently knocking on the door.

A soft yelp-like squeak can be heard from inside, causing me to hesitate.

"Hello? Don't be alarmed, I'm only here to check up on you." I say through the door, hearing lots of shuffling and mumbling.

Suddenly, the door swings open, making me jump slightly. A small robot boy stands in the doorway, staring at me.

His eyes make miniscule movements as he stares, a mechanical humming noise emanating from him. Was he scanning me or something?

His eyes open fully, a soft click coming from him. "Ah, doctor Yuu! It is lovely to see you!"

I raise an eyebrow. "Hello.. How did you know my name?"

"I scanned you, and read the identification chip in your badge. Now, may I ask why you are here? Is our current doctor sick?" He says in a cheery tone, tilting his head.

So he was scanning me. Well, I knew about the chip in my badge, I didn't know it could be scanned.

"Oh, no, I'm Idia's new doctor." I smile politely at the boy. "Are you Ortho? It's nice to meet you"

The boy perks up visibly, his eyes crinkling in happily. "Oh, that's wonderful news! Big brother was practically going mad with Aren!"

He steps forward and gently takes my hands. "Please, come in! I'm sure big brother would love the news that you're his doctor!"

"Oh- okay, I'm coming." I smile awkwardly, following the boy as he lead me into the room.

As I shut the door behind me, the first thing I notice is how dim the lights are. And the ball of what looked to be blue fire huddled in the corner...

... Oh, wait. That's my patient.

His tired, yellow eyes stare at me from behind his firey blue fringe, his pupils so dilated that I could almost not see them.

Ortho excitedly hurries over to Idia. "Big brother! This is our new doctor, they are replacing Aren."

Idia doesn't say anything, his eyes locked onto me. He looked terrified, gripping the fabric of his sleeves.

I take a few steps back towards the door, giving him as much space as I can. "There's no need to be afraid. I'm not going to come near you if you want space, okay?"

I speak to him as if speaking to a jumpy, feral cat, hoping that I would at least be able to get through to him that I wasn't going to hurt him.

At my words, he seems to calm down a bit, but he still doesn't move, nor does he make any move to speak.

I offer him one last soft smile, before turning to Ortho. "Has Idia been okay between the switch? I know most of Aren's last patients were without a doctor for a day or two."

Ortho looks up at me with a soft, happy expression. "He was very glad to have some time to himself! But he did seem to become a bit restless."

"Restless? Was he not leaving his room?" I ask with a confused expression. Unless someone was bringing him food, not leaving his room means he would be eating.

"Oh no, he was. But at night, he just seemed skittish." Ortho chuckles. "More skittish than usual, that is."

"Ortho..." Idia grumbles, his voice hoarse and grumbly. He had his face buried in his arms, the tips of his hair flickering into a pinkish colour.

Ortho let out another laugh, turning to his brother. "Haha, sorry. I'm just trying to be friendly to our new doctor."

I smile, going to say something. But, as predicted by now, my phone alarm went off, making Idia practically jump out of his skin.

"Oh- Sorry!" I quickly turn off the alarm. "I'm so sorry about that. But, I'm afraid I'll be leaving now."

Ortho nods politely, smiling at me. Not that I could see of course, he has some sort of mouthguard on. "We'll see you tomorrow, Doctor!"

I nod politely, turning to Idia. "See you both tomorrow, okay?" I turn away, before unlocking the room door and stepping back out into the hallway.

Idia's POV

As soon as the door closed, I let out a long, tired breath I didn't even realise I was holding.

Ortho beams at me, making his way over and sitting in front of me.

"Big brother, aren't you happy? Our new doctor is so kind!"

I look at him with a tired expression, but I still smile. "Yeah... I guess they were okay."

Ortho seems to ponder for a moment.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask him, moving to sit in a more comfortable position.

"I'm calculating something."

"Really? What is it?"

"The compatibility of you and Doctor Yuu." Ortho responds innocently, causing my face to go bright red, my hair flaring a bright pink.

"O- Ortho!"
