The clean white of the walls greet me as I step into the building, the hum of the air conditioning units and the glow of the bright white lights grossly familiar.

Kira smiles at the sight of me, seeming excited for some reason.

"Hey Kir. What's with the face?" I say with a confused smile as I walk up to her desk.

"Well, first of all," She pushes her glasses further onto her face. "Director Crowley has finally come to his senses. He's installed proper offices for the doctors, so you don't have to spend half your shift mulling about."

My eyes widen, in nothing short of excitement. Finally! The office I was promised two years ago when I started this job!

"No way, Dire Crowley, remembering to keep his promises? You're joking." I say playfully, leaning on the counter.

Kira laughs, tucking some hair behind her ear. "I know, sounds unbelievable. I guess my many complaints have gone through"

---------------

My new office was just a blank room at the moment. Desk pressed against the wall, with a lamp and a swivel desk chair. There were no windows, but this building is huge, so that's to be expected.

"You'll have to decorate it yourself, but it's a decent room!" Kira said warmly from behind me as I step in.

"It is relatively nice looking. At least the walls are intact" I can't help but chuckle at my own words as Kira gently pats my shoulder, before leaving.

I look around the room, already visualising what I would decorate it with.

Maybe a shelf against the far wall, a few plants, maybe a floor lamp and a rug... Hm. Enough with that for now.

I leave the office, locking the door behind me with my keycard. 'Doctor Yuu L/N' was written on the door on a fancy plaque.

I smile softly at the sight, before making my way down the hall. Today, all of the patients were allowed into the courtyard, a large outdoor area that was meant for enrichment of the patients.

On days like this, I liked to just sit outside for a bit and keep an eye on my patients. It's nice, the fresh air.

"Yuu?" A familiar voice pipes up from behind me, catching me off guard.

I turn around to look at them, my expression immediately brightening. "Galena! Long time no see!"

She smiles warmly at me, making her way over. "It's only been a few days since we last met."

"Still, too long. You're the only other doctor I can tolerate without tearing out my hair." She laughs at my words, walking along beside me.

"How have the new patients been?" She asks curiously. "Have they settled okay?"

"Yeah, actually. Most of them are pretty cordial. Well, as cordial as asylum patients can be."

"Oh, that's great to hear! Are you going to the courtyard, by the way?"

"Yeah, why? You wanna come with?" I ask with a gentle smile.

"Oh, no, sadly. I'm going to check on Armaros." Galena's cheeks warmed slightly at the mention of him. I smirk playfully.

"Ooooo~" "Shush."

I laugh at her fluster, before bidding her goodbye and making my way over to the courtyard.

The big double doors were unlocked by a swipe of my keycard, the cool air rushing towards my face as I step out.
