I sigh as I travel out of the Heartslabyul wing, towards the next one on my list. Savanaclaw.
The entrance of the wing isn't too far, but in the minute that it took me to travel there, my phone started to ring.
Why am I getting a call right now- Oh it's Aren. Of course it is.
I sigh in exasperation as I answer. "Aren. The hell do you want?"
They scoff at my words. "Yuu, you never told me that your patients were so damn mean! One of them insulted me!" They whined over the phone, making me cringe so hard that I'm pretty sure ten years were shaved off of my lifespan.
At least they didn't physically attack you. This is a psych ward, what did you expect? A hug? I wanted to say this, but I bit my tongue.
"Nobody asked for a sob story, now leave me alone, I'm working." I hissed out instead, before hanging up.
"Hehehe... Just wait till they have to interview Cress! They'll be begging to switch back, haha!" I said to myself, pulling out my next file.

I huff softly to myself after reading his file, closing it with a papery thud.
He's a beastman? Cool. One of my old patients was a fishman, so I had a little bit of experience with demihumans.
Unlocking the door as usual, I slowly open it and peek my head in. Who I assume is Ruggie was curled up on his bed, seemingly half asleep.
I cleared my throat to get his attention as I walked in.
Two soft-looking ears popped up, and his eyes slowly opened.
"Sorry to wake you, Ruggie." I smile as he sits up, regarding me curiously. "I'm your new doctor, Yuu. How are you feeling?" I say gently, following the warning about being soft-spoken.
He slowly stretched out, before nodding to me. "... 'm alright. Happy that've got a new doctor, eh."
I stifle a chuckle, walking closer. "Is it alright if I ask you a few questions? You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
He looked up at me and nodded. "Sure, I don't mind." His eyes were a hazy, grey-blue. He looked at me curiously.
"Alright... How long were you alone before coming here?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Ummm..." Ruggie rubbed the back of his neck. "A few years, maybe? I don't remember that well."
"That's alright, thankyou for the answer." I smiled at the fuzzy eared man, as I pull out a pen and write a quick note about that.
The rest of the interview is simple, telling him what I'd be doing, and letting him ask questions of his own.
"Hey, what happened to the other doctor?" Ruggie asked, his head tilting.
"Aren? They decided to switch patients with me. I have no clue why."
"Weird. Shishishi! Well, you're like, ten times better than them already." A large, toothy grin spread over the man's face.
"Aw, thankyou Ruggie. That's sweet." A matching grin adorned my face, wanting to be polite. Although I was glad he seemed to trust me.
The ever so familiar buzz of my alarm spooked the hyena boy.
"Oh, I have to go now. I'll see you tomorrow, okay Ruggie?" I said, smiling at him.
"Aight, see ya." His ear twitched again as he laid back down on his bed, probably wanting to go back to sleep.
I made my way out and locked his door behind me. Off to the next one.

What a nice thing to be woken up to. They smelled so nice...
