Awsten could tell in her body language alone that she was nervous.

He didn't know much Otto and Jawn had told her about the entire thing, and he knew that there was only so much explaining someone could do right now.

In a way he felt like he was 16 all over again, sitting at his parents dinning room table across from Bob getting boat loads of information that took him years to process.

"I uh- usually shut the door whenever I'm in here. Is that okay or would you rather it be open?" Awsten asked Angel as she walked inside.

She turned around, looking at him up and down and the way his hand gripped the door knob tightly, slightly turning it.

There was little to nothing she knew about the man standing across from her, but she knew there was probably a deeper reason why he was always so cold.

Another reason as to why he was holding onto the door so tightly it he could probably rip it off of the hinges without even trying.

"I'm comfortable with whatever you want." she assured him, sitting down in a chair. "If you'd rather it be closed go right ahead, this is your room? Office? Closet? Whatever it is, it's yours and you do whatever you prefer."

She was annoying to him, constantly wanting more information about the world around her without taking the time to actually assess a situation.

Angel was comforting even if she didn't mean to, and that annoyed him even more.

Awsten knew in this moment that he needed to be calm, even if every part of him wanted to yell.

At his core he knew it wasn't her fault, but the thought of having to protect someone that wasn't himself or his sister terrified him.

He was scared to fail again.

"Otto and Jawn suck at answering questions so I'm sorry I wasn't the one to do it I just needed to figure somethings out here." Awsten told her, and she could tell by his tone alone that he must be exhausted.

"Can I be honest with you?" she asked him dryly.

Awsten nodded his head, confusion etched across his face as he waited for her to speak again.

"I can't imagine that you answering any questions would of made me feel any better. You don't strike me as the nurturing type, yeah the only answer they gave me was that Otto is in fact a killer but it was probably for the better that it was them and not you." she told him matter of factly.

He was speechless at first, there was something about the girl that fascinated him.

He couldn't tell if it was because of the fact that she was typically soft spoken, but sometimes had this side to her where her words could cut glass.

Or if it was the fact that even faced with absolutely everything that happened today she was still sitting in front of him.

"Is that meant to be an insult?" he asked her curiously, with an eyebrow raised.

Angel shrugged simply, nodding her head. "If you want to take it as an insult then be my guest, it was more of an observation than anything else."
