Awsten didn't let himself think much about the lengths that Angel went through to help Otto.
He had overheard the two of them talking as he was standing outside of the club on the phone, the last thing that he had expected was for Otto to open up to her so easily.
If he thought too much about it, he would let himself fixate on the topic and that's the last thing he could afford to do at the moment.
The phone call he had taken was the last thing he wanted to hear, Richard had called him saying that Ian requested that Angel attended the monthly event with him.
It made him sick to his stomach that they called it an event, treating it like it was this special thing that people were honored to go to when it was the farthest thing from that.
There was a reason why he stayed far away from the fighting ring, his men for the most part had always played by the rules when it came to it.
But Richard's men couldn't say the same, the people that fought were never trained. They were just regular people that they had found who were struggling, and were offered cash prizes in return for entertainment for rich.
There were no rules, and people often ended up leaving the ring seriously injured and in some bad cases dead.
He didn't want to bring Angel there, he didn't think that she would be able to handle it but there really wasn't any other choice for her.
If she was going to keep up the act of Samantha Wilson, then she needed to attend these things and there wasn't any amount of rules or training that would prepare her.
He noticed that she had been keeping her distance from Friendly Reminder, and everyone in general. Otto kept him updated on how she had been doing, and on top of it he had some of his men outside of her work on a daily basis to keep an eye on things to make sure that she was safe.
Awsten had told her to come by the club today once she locked the studio up, and he was dreading having the conversation with her about what they would have to do on Friday because he knew that she was going to be difficult when it came to it all.
Much like she always was.
He had told the rest of the guys to hold off on coming in today, he knew that if any of them had overheard the fact she would have to go to this event on Friday they would be hell bent on going to also protect her.
It would be much harder for them to keep up with anything if they had five men surrounding her at all times, shooting daggers at anyone who even so much looked her way.
He wondered if she knew just how protective Lucas, Geoff, Jawn and Otto already were of her.
He heard a light knock from the outside of the door, immediately recognizing it as Angels.
"You can come in, you didn't have to knock." he called out to her through the door.
She slipped into his office quickly, closing the door behind her.
To Awsten's surprise, she wasn't wearing a sundress today but a pair of overalls that were splattered with paint with a white t shirt underneath.
