"That was... a long time ago. He was the first man that greeted us in the hospital, and was the brightest person out of anyone that day. I'll never forget when he bent down his face towards mine, and told me that it'll be okay."

"...My father did that?"

"Mmm. Of course, my parents were still concerned about the project. It was just a prototype after all. And an American man? Phew, they won't stop chewing on me for that." She scoffs, "But I instantly accepted the offer, with no questions asked. Seeing my immediate reaction was probably the reason my parents allowed me to use the Medicuboid in the first place."

"I remember my sister was also very supportive of my decision. Actually, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be brave enough to dive in the virtual world myself!"

"Yeah. That was a hard time for me and sis. Our parents have both passed recently, and we heard from Doctor Kurahashi that Doctor Christian died in a car crash overseas. Just like you told me." She sighed, "I started to think that Serene Garden would be my last great memory together, I even met Merida there!"

My eyes quickly peaked as I leaned on the same white wall, still holding that picture on my hand. Merida?

"Who's that? A friend of yours back then?"

"Merida? Yeah, she's a great friend of mine. Uhm, was a great friend of mine. She passed away due to cancer, shortly after my sis did."

Dang... She's able to endure all of this... By herself all this time? I don't know how you do this, Yuuki. I seriously don't. But I promise that you'll never be alone ever again, whenever you need me, I'll be there... Damnit, Kirei... Just need to say it out loud...

"I met her with my big sis Ran, ah, that's her username back then-- We met in Serene Garden, we caught bugs together and ate Crêpes too. But one day, she showed me another game. Asuka Empire, a free-to-play samurai action game. That's my first exposure to RPG action stuff."

Yuuki took a breath,

"She taught me how to fight with a sword, despite her using a knife, haha! She's a great person, one of the greatest I've ever met. Her memory lives on as one of the three founding members of the Sleeping Knights, forever. "

"I... see..."

"And one of them is still with you right now! Rejoice! Or something... hehe..."

She went and tried to defuse the seriousness, but failed to do so.
