{The Day I Met Her.}
Act 3.

|[January 7th, 2026. Evening.]|

The 25th floor, a dark forest with the moonlight shining through the trees. Of course, going straight for the boss without knowing what my mates are capable of doing is just suicide, so I brought them here to do a little test run. I don't like this floor, but it's the one of the only places I know that has a strong enough mix of enemies to teamwork our way through.

I remember back in SAO, a bunch of people died here. The landscape is horrendous, but I think it's meant to be like this. A lot of traps and pitfalls are great ways to kill off your players, and that's just the geography. A big part of this floor are poisonous swamps, filled with mud that's almost as sticky as industrial glue. The rest though, are fairly normal deep forests with monsters hiding in every corner.

"So... Yuuki, I'm sorry." I lowly say, to my new guild leader.

"Eh? About what?" She follows.

"About those moves I did... Before the big sword skill."

"Ah, that!" She remembered, "It's okay! My fault for not taking that warning seriously, hehe~!"

She put up an innocent face, sticking her tongue out while closing one eye. That's pretty cute, and now I'm relieved from having late night regrets of hitting a girl right on her stomach.

"Your fighting style is very... How do I say it, rash?" Yuuki chuckles, "I never knew that coming from someone like you!"

"Oh, really? Looks can be deceiving, you know."

"Yep! And now I definitely understand that saying, literally."

We both laugh, while the party on the back seem to be jealous to join in. One cleared her throat, the Spriggan girl came up to us with a... What's that word, smug smile?

"So~ it seems that Yuuki has attracted a new tall and... Mmm... Fancy young man to her party~"

Nori's words caught me off guard, scaring me a little. I'm not THAT tall, just a little taller than Tecchi... Yeah, for these guys I'm considered as tall huh?

"Tall is a fact, but I don't know about fancy."

"From the way you act and talk you seem like a gentle person inside. Like one of those charming princes carrying his princess, making women around him fall head over heels just by a simple glance~!"

"Nope. Nope. Never, ever want to be royalty. If I ever was one, I'd rather be alone and let the other princes take the girls!"

Nori and Yuuki laughed out loud, almost shaking the leaves from the trees above and around us. How the heck is she nailing almost every aspect of my life, I never met these guys before an hour ago!

"Don't worry, Prince. I'd be there for you~" Nori playfully exclaim.

I put my hands up while also looking away, "Yeah, I respectfully decline your offer."

"Ahaha! O.K. Mister Tall Guy!" Tall Guy... Is that my new nickname? "If I'm not you're type, what about or dear guild leader here~"

"Actually, I wanna know! Hey, Shiki! Tell me!" Yuuki grabbed my left sleeve, smiling like a child asking for candy.

Yuuki is... Uh... Yeah... Cute? I can't say that! Crap, come up with something Shiki, come on!

"You're... Yeah, a nice girl..." I embarrass myself.

"Eh~? Really? You mean that~?" She playfully answers back.

"AHEM. OH, LOOK AT THAT A GROUP OF ENEMIES TO FIGHT." I quickly change the subject.
