{The Strings Of Trusts.}
Act 2.|[January 9th, 2026. Very Early Morning.]|
Silver platters with iron colored inlays, a thick spruce table with beautifully carved flower ornaments, chandeliers made of pure gold hanging off the ceiling, and lastly the slippery white marble floors.
Our leprechaun glasses boy wasn't kidding when he said this place was fancy. Just by looking from the outside, you can instantly tell what can be expected from an insanely intricate piece of a building. And it's not even that big! Yes, it extends to the back, but I'm willing to bet this restaurant never has more than five seats full.
I- ahem, we picked the best table of all. Right in front of the building's big window on the first floor. It overlooked the town's main attraction, the Riverside Gondolas. Even at this time, well, especially at this time the NPCs roam around those small water passings on their small boats. And oh yeah, we haven't slept yet. We just don't care! Celebration calls, after all!
The vintage streetlights fit that Venice look so well, it almost feels like we're actually there. Anyway, enough about the place, more about the actual reason we're here.
"Here's to our greatest accomplishment as a guild!" Yuuki exclaimed, raising her mug.
"Cheers!"
The clanking was hands down the best noise I've heard in a while. Just that rush of dopamine you get after listening to pieces of glass held by your comrades clashing can't be beaten by any other sounds.
For the meals, we outdone ourselves with the most fancy, expensive, VERY EXPENSIVE meals we can get. Roasted Hermit Crab, Medium Well Steak with Mushroom Sauce, Freshwater Lobsters, Perfect Yellow Omelettes, Great Salt Fries, Skewered Sea Fishes...
And whatever other names these dishes had, it goes on. As our dishes started to pile up on the table, every cent of our Yrd went down the drain. Ah, who cares! We all deserve it.
It all went so quick, too. I didn't remember when my first bite was, nor what I was biting on then. It all tasted amazing, we all couldn't stop ourselves from eating.
"So... Shiki... How did you, OM. Know about the, NAOM. Boss?"
Sheesh, Jun. Pick one, speak or eat, man.
"I used to work mercenary. Those guilds and clearers paid me to fight with them."
"WHAT?!" Every single member of the Knights slammed the table ferociously with the force of a hundred elephants, almost breaking the table apart too, damn. Chill out a bit, will ya.
"Sorry, I didn't know those guys got info about the boss from you guys. When you said that you've fought it before, I already had a couple hunches. Never knew it was all true, helping the guild that I stole the info from."
"YOU WERE- ON THEIR SIDE?!" The salamander boy shouts, once more.
"And now I'm not. Screw them, they only care about being the first to clear the floors. We can do whatever we want in this game, no hundred membered guild can stop us!"
"Uh... I don't know whether I should agree or not..." Yuuki lowly drank her juice, "We kinda sound like jerks when you say it like that, Shiki."
"-And so, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I still had contact info of the clearers private group chat, and I had a friend to make sure. That's how I knew about their plans on a raid, although I was really worried when they SUDDENLY APPEARED ONE WEEK BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DATE."
