Everything is so empty and quiet.

Mainly quiet.

I can't really complain, seeing as at least it's not cold. I'm covered in my duvet, three blankets and wearing a onesie (one of the only pieces of clothing that still fit). So in fact, I am very hot.

I sit up and pull off two of the blankets and lie straight back down again.

A soft knock sounds on my door and it creaks open. I don't have to turn around and face it to know who is standing on the other side.

'Lexi?' Alice says.

It's not quiet anymore.

'Lexi?' She repeats.

I'm worried she'll think I'm dead if I don't turn around, so I prop myself up on my elbows and look towards the door.

Alice lets out a relieved sigh and holds up the tray in her hands.

'I brought food.' She says.

'I'm not hungry.'

She walks towards me. 'Well your baby's hungry,' she places the tray in front of me. 'So you'd better eat.'

I blink at her.

She walks over to the curtains and pulls them open.

I groan in return. 'Really?'

'Alexis, look at the hot sunshine. You should go out and do some exercise, like a walk or... i don't know, a walk.'

'I don't want to go for a walk.'

'Well your baby might want to go for a walk.' She says

'My baby doesn't want to do anything I don't want to do.'

She rolls her eyes, huffs and plonks herself down on my bed.

'You have a visitor.' She says.

'I don't want to see them.'

'Well they want to see you.'

'Who is it?' I reply

'If you come out of your room then you'll find out.'

I stare at her straight faced.

She gives me a smile. 'I'm not leaving till you eat some of that.' She says

'Well, you'll be here for a while then.'

'Lexi, one bite.'

I pick up the try and push it around the plate. 'Is Axcel outside?'
