Diego

'Did you drug me?' She asks.

My backs to her and I'm kind of wishing I hallucinated seeing her last night.

More like I wish I hallucinated helping her... because that's not something I do.

Help people.

Especially not her.

'Excuse me?' I ask, with my back still to her.

'Did you drug me last night?'

I turn around. 'No. Why would I do that?'

I definitely did not hallucinate her.

She's standing in my kitchen entrance dressed in the best outfit i've seen her in so far.

I know that she's busy trying to figure out what crime I've committed against her whilst she was asleep.

But unless carrying her to the guest bedroom is a crime, I'm innocent.

'I don't know, because...' She flails her hands around, as if the universe is going to give her a valid reason.

'It was just herbal tea Alexis.'

She narrows her eyes. 'Hmm.'

She takes a seat over at the breakfast bar, crosses her arms in front of her and places her head in them.

Yesterday was the perfect time to kill her, when she was vulnerable.

That's always the perfect time to kill someone.

But the thing that's troubling me, is the fact that the thought of killing her didn't cross my mind once. All I wanted to do was make sure she was okay.

I take in a deep breath. 'How do you take your coffee?'

'Milk no sugar.' She murmurs.

I place it infront of her and she looks up.

Then her eyes drop down to my abs.

I clear my throat and her eyes snap back to my face.

'Where's your shirt?' She asks

I raise my eyebrows.

I swear sometimes the power gets to this lady's head.

'It's my house, I don't have to wear a shirt.'

She gives me a look. 'You wouldn't like it if I didn't wear a shirt.'

For some reason, thinking of her shirtless makes me more than blush.

Pull it together Diego.

I smirk. 'It's not really my problem if you don't wear a shirt in your own house Alexis.'

'Put on a shirt Diego.' She says sharply.

'Why, are you getting distracted?'

She glares at me.

I laugh, leave the room and pull on a wife beater.

It's probably no better than being shirtless because it's so tight against my muscles, and Alexis seems to agree, because when I walk back into the kitchen she nearly chokes on her coffee.

I smirk and she glares at me over the rim of her cup.

'Do you want breakfast?' I ask.

I already ate, but I assume she's hungry.

I mean how can you not be hungry after eating for like nine hours.

'No, I'm not hungry.' She says.

I feel my mouth drop open slightly. 'What do you mean?'

She shrugs. 'I'm not hungry, I don't eat breakfast.'

'How can you not eat breakfast?'

'I don't know, I just don't, I'm not really hungry.'

'Alexis, you have to eat something... to help your hangover.'

She keeps my gaze for a while, whilst her brain works out why I'm being so nice to her.

I don't even think I know why.

She shakes her head. 'No thanks.' She says quietly, before placing the mug down carefully on the counter, standing up and taking a deep breath.

'So since I'm here, you can give me Seb's memory stick and all of this will be finished.' She says, holding out her hand, like I have it in my pocket.

If this thing  finishes, I probably won't see her again.

I shake my head. 'No.'

She lets her outstretched arm drop to the side. 'What do you mean, no.'

I shrug. 'I mean, I'm not giving it to you.'

'Why?'

'Because it's mine. Plus, it's not here, and I'm not going to get it.'

Only the first part of that was a lie.

It's not mine, someone gave it to me.

The second part is true.

I gave it back to its owner... for a few reasons.

'Tell me where it is and I'll go get it.'

God, she's demanding.

'Mmmh, no.'

'Diego.' She says, sounding exasperated.

'What?'

She clenches and unclenches her fists. 'Fuck you.'

I smirk.

She turns to leave, and then turns back around and points a finger at me.

'And don't you dare try and kill me, because technically I didn't get my turn.'

I reach out and push down her hand.

'It's rude to point Alexis.'

She glares at me before turning and leaving.
