Sophia's restaurant is busy, even though it's not open.
There are people who obviously work here and then there's ten people standing in a queue in front of the service door.
'I'm assuming she's in there.' I say pointing to the door.
Axcel nods. 'Yeah probably.'
He weaves his way through the crowd and I follow.
A few people grumble when we push our way to the front of the queue and through the doors, but no one stops us.
Sophia looks up suddenly when she hears the doors open and drops whatever she's doing into the sink.
'Shit Axcel, you gave me a heart attack. Do you want to knock next time?' She says when she sees us.
She looks at me and gives me a smile, before looking back at Axcel.
'What do you want?' She asks.
'I've got to ask you about mum.'
She picks up whatever's in the sink. 'What about her?'
'Do you know what she's been up to lately?'
'No, she's probably just fucked off to another country as usual. Anyway, why should I know, she's not my mother.'
'Sophia.' Axcel says warningly.
'What, my mums probably dead, and your mum hangs around me because I'm the daughter she never had. I'm finished dealing with your family issues.'
She shakes her hands off and dries them before reaching back into the sink and pulling out a huge dead fish.
I grimace at the sight of it and Sophia notices.
'It's not that bad, I promise. It's definitely better than dealing with dead humans.'
I laugh. 'True.'
'Hey, you know I'm sorry about Seb.' She says to me. 'I was going to say that at the funeral, but I didn't see you there.'
I smile. 'Yeah, I didn't go.'
She raises her eyebrows and goes to reply, but Axcel interrupts her.
'Can we get back on topic please.' He says.
She rolls her eyes. 'Sure what do you want to know?'
Axcel slides a sheet of paper in her direction and she picks it up.
She frowns at it, lets out a sigh and slides the paper back in our direction.
She shakes her head. 'She's been doing that shit for ages Axcel. If you and Seb didn't know, especially Seb, then the two of you are really fucking oblivious.'
'Excuse me?'
'I mean seriously, how do you think she was getting into all those parties and hanging out with people who aren't part of our circle.' She pauses. 'You know, she tried to get me into it, but I'm very loyal.'
I have no idea what's going on.
Axcel's jaw twitches. 'Sophia, did you not think to stop her, or tell me.'
'No.' She says.
Axcel steps forward. 'Sophia-'
'What are you guys talking about?' I ask, interrupting Axcel.
They both turn to face me at the same time, but only Sophia answers. 'His mum being a traitor.'
She turns to Axcel. 'You know what she said to me.'
'What?' He asks.
'That she was doing all that for us. Not Seb, us. Me and you.'
'What does that even mean Sophia?' Axcel asks.
She shrugs. 'I don't know, ask her.'
'You're useless.'
'Thanks.'
He turns to me. 'Lets go.'
Then he turns back to Sophia. 'I want to collect my money soon, so get selling those drugs, because you've got a queue of people waiting for them.'
'It's actually not your money, it's Alexis's.' She says.
'Shut up Sophia.' He says, before turning and leaving.
I smile at her and leave the kitchen.
'Axcel, what on earth does that have to do with who murdered Seb?' I ask, as I walk next to him.
'I have no idea Alexis, but right now, I'm more concerned with why my mother is fucking men that are not part of our mafia.'
He pushes the door to the restaurant open with such force that it hits the outside wall.
'Okay. Are you okay?' I ask him, but it might as well be to myself, because he's already stormed off.
