"She hasn't had true love. It's hard to say that she's made love when she's never experienced it. Maybe she's even felt like she was in love at some point, but once those feelings went away she wonders if that feeling was real love. In turn, she que...

Squashing the bud of the dimly lit cigarette with his shoe, the valet blew out a quick breath before standing to help the next guest in line. He motioned with his hand for the baby pink, Range Rover Evoque to move up in line and asked the guest to shift their gear into park before stepping out.
"She's delicate, make sure not to scuff her up." Nicki threatened with a sweet smile on her face that she knew would charm his pants off.
"Y—yes ma'am." The valet muttered. He held his hand out for the key and waited until Nicki had disappeared inside of the hotel to drive off.
With her pink Chanel bag and box of fancy cookies in tow, she strutted over to the front desk and waited patiently for the concierge to assist her.
"Of course, just wait a moment for me to call for approval."
After a soft head nod to move forward, Nicki took the elevator up to the right floor and was pleased to see that the suite wasn't too far away from the exit. She made three soft knocks before the door opened, and once her and Kelly locked eyes, a soft smile landed on her face.
"You look nice." Nicki spoke.
"Oh please," Kelly scoffed. "You clearly see I'm still nursing this scar, right?" She added before flashing her left eye that was permanently marked with a slanted line of stitches — gifted by the glass of wine Giselle chucked her way just a month before.
"It's getting better, that's all that matters." Nicki tried to ease the awkward air. "Cookie?"
Kelly shrugged her shoulders before digging in and walked behind the small kitchenette to grab ahold of two wine glasses and a fresh bottle of Prosecco.
"Want a glass?" Kelly offered.
"Sure, it'll help ease whatever tension that seems to be brewing between us."
"Tension? Why tension?" She repeated out of confusion.
"Really, Kelly? Let's not act like you haven't been dodging my calls for an entire month; as a friend who deeply cares for you, I'm worried!"
Kelly kissed her teeth, "I swear it was not my intention to do so, but after the bitch tried me I really didn't want to speak to anyone."
"But why? It wasn't like y'all were going to interact after it happened."
"Whether we would have or not, running into her just ruined the rest of my year. She's lucky I didn't get a good chance to hit back."
You wouldn't have won anyway, Nicki thought to herself before deciding to keep her comment sealed as she took a sip of the sparkling wine. As the pair allowed for silence to sink in, Nicki was glad that Kelly chose to use the bathroom so that she could set up in peace.
