Chapter 39- Don't worry...I will protect you

I just stand there without saying anything.

I watched Endymion's expression changing from happiness to pain.

He will try to hide it , won't he?

You are too nice Endymion...

Endymion looked sad for a moment but nobody noticed except me.

"Well Lisa- It depends on the situation."

It must be painful for him...

I wish I could do something.

Cain wasn't pleased by Lisa's confession at the start since she was the only one to have a crush on him.

I raised my hand.

Lisa and her father nodded.

He blinked in suprise and confusion.

Lisa thought that Cain loved her but he was just trying to be nice and gentle to her in order to not hurt her.

He stopped pretending after she got kidnapped.

Oh yeah!I was spacing out!

I forgot we left together with Endymion.

I looked at him and giggled.

"It is nothing young master Endymion.I was just happy that you decided to let me accompany you today!"

That is true as well!

He still is holding back his sadness so I should distract him for a bit.

I am sure he is thinking of Lisa's words right now.

"Oh so that is why.Can I ask you a question maid?"

"Yes!"

"You shouldn't get excited by a simple question- Anyways- Why did you decided to talk in my place and left with me earlier?"

So he did figure out something.

"You seemed uncomfortable young master so I helped."

I am sure he is angry at me for encouraging Lisa to ask Cain what he thinks of her.

He must think that he stands no chance and that Lisa and Cain will get together in no time.

I am sorry Endymion but I can't tell you anything now.

"You were trying to help?"he said.

Endymion rested his face on his palm and signed.

"It is okay since you don't know anything..."

He is trying to be considerate aw!

I do know though!

Let's just act dumb.

I am going to protect you Endymion-

I will try my best to make you happy with Lisa.

Even if she doesn't choose you it is okay.

My move today will help her find someone who truly is worthy of her.Maybe that will be you.

This time you will not die for her.

I grabbed young master's hand.

"Are you okay young master?"I said.

He looked at me with emotionless eyes and said nothing.

I gather all my emotions.

I move his hands out of his face and put them around me.

Then I put my hands around his back and hugged him tightly.

He flinched and gasped.

Please don't yell at me!

His tense muscles relax and he hugged me back.

"Eh-"

"Don't say anything."he replied.

I patted his head.

"Everything will be alright.."

After a few minutes we finally let go of each other.

"You- Why did you hug me?"Endymion said and a little emotion was shown in his eyes.
