Chapter 15- Guilty

I feel relieved and collapse on the sofa.

It is embarrassing to do that in front of our guests but honestly I don't care anymore...

This experience was a total shock for someone like me.

I have never been through something this scary.

I have never been robbed or anything similar.

I signed out of exhaustion.

Mom and miss Suzanne looked towards me and scanned my whole body.

"What happened sweetie? Did something happen while you were gone?" mom said and twisted her eyebrows.

Miss Suzanne is also giving me a worried look.

I have to avoid it.

"Everything is alright! Don't worry! I am just tired today! Maybe I didn't get enough sleep? I just walked until the corner of the other house and came back! What could possibly happen in the middle of the night?"

I put my right hand on my heart to calm myself by feeling my own heartbeat.

I covered my thoughts and worries with a smile.

"Oh...Is that so? You almost gave me a big scare my daughter...I thought something happened and you didn't wanna worry us! Phew!"

Ouch! That was a shot- I feel super guilty now... Thanks mom!

Miss Suzanne also nodded and smiled back to me.

Where is the main lead?

"Excuse me miss Suzanne? Where is Cain? Wasn't he supposed to sit next to you , miss Suzanne?"

I just noticed that he is missing.

I was overwhelmed by what happened and couldn't analyze my surroundings.

Miss Suzanne laughed.

"Where else would he go? He is in the kitchen to grab something to eat! He must have heard you but didn't reveal himself."

What is she talking about?!

I feel my cheeks going red because of the anger boiling in my blood.

"It is okay honey.I am sure he must be so focused on the food! He may not have heard anything."

Mom looked at me with a fake smile.

Is she telling me to control myself?

Well she isn't wrong...

I should calm down and think straight.

"Maybe I should go to look for him? I am also hungry!"

"Okay honey! Have fun you two! Ahaha so cute!"

Are you serious? You ship us mom?

I didn't respond and went to the kitchen.

"Cain! Are you there?!"I said a bit loudly.

"Hmm!"
