Chapter 23

"I'm still here in Manila. Can you schedule another meeting? Okay, thanks." I heard someone.

When I awoke, I realized I wasn't in my bed or room, and I looked up at the ceiling, realizing this wasn't my condo. I'm not sure what occurred last night, but I hope I didn't do something I'll regret.

Lumabas sa sa kwarto na tinutulogan ko and I spotted a topless man with visible musle, agad akong kinabahan, and as he turned around and faced me, I saw Warden.

"Eng. Koh." my eyes widen and I was shaking. "Goodmorning, Dra. Ysal."

He gestured me to sit but I didn't move. "About last night... Did I do some...thing?" I asked slowly.

"Nothing happened, Dra. Ysal." he answered. No wonder I didn't feel sore, not that I was expecting something will happen, I didn't even remember what happened last night, total blackout, dammit.

I texted Shenela to pick me up, and I asked Warden what place is and it was their building. I sat on his couch, his apartment is huge and he called me to eat with him but I told him that I'm good which is a lie.

I was about to head out when Warden said, "Dra. Ysal." I was glued to my position, then he added, "Can we talk?"

"What do you want to talk about, Eng. Koh?" I said, not looking back at him. I was facing his front door, I'm so close to leaving this apartment.

When he didn't respond, I continued walking to his main door, but as I was about to approach the doorknob, I noticed Warden was already blocking the doorway behind me. I didn't notice him approaching me because I didn't hear him.

"Sit on my coffee table first, have breakfast with me," I couldn't proceed with what he was saying but then I replied, "Shenela is waiting for me in the lobby."

I did nothing except follow his movements, observing and scrutinizing him while he looked for his phone. He contacted the lobby when he spotted his phone and told them to let Shenela into his unit.

We were just silent, the doorbell suddenly rang and I volunteered to open it since Shenela is here for me. "I didn't know you purchased a new apartment, Ace."

She didn't wait for me to ask her in before going inside. She simply examined the entire apartment and said, "This is so spacious." She continued to look around until she came into Warden in the kitchen. She stares at me and then back to Warden, and when she returned her focus to me, I flushed. I mouthed her 'I'll explain later' and she responded 'You better be.'

Warden told Shenela to sit there at his table, but she only furrowed her brows and questioned, "What about her?" pointing at me. I was in exactly the same position as before. I widen my eyes at her and she just gave me a smug look.

"Dra. Ysal is free to sit anywhere she likes, but I'm guessing she doesn't want to because she's been standing in the same spot for quite some time." Shenela snorted and said, "Maybe she wants to sit on your lap."
