"What?" Tony raised an eyebrow at you, "You want to stay here? In this universe? You don't want to go home?"
"Well, I don't have much of a home anymore." You shrug, not meeting Tony's eye contact.
"What d'you mean?" He fiddled with his glasses, a little intrigued why you'd want to stay in a place with such bad memories.
Surely you didn't want to stay in the same universe where your best friend died.
"I-" You didn't really want to go into it but it was necessary, "Harry was all I had left in that universe, my other friends and family members have left me. I- I have more here than I have there."
Tony rolled his eyes and shook his head. He looked as if he was feeling stupid.
"What?" You asked, it wasn't the reaction you were expecting.
"Well I've told them you're a bloody robot!" Tony rests his face in his hands, "Why did you tell me sooner!"
"I- I didn't know then." You stumble your words, not really sure what was going on in Tony's head.
You stare at Iron Man, desperately in need of an answer to your question, a solution to your problem or just a sentence that made sense.
"Well, there is one thing you can do," Tony suggested, "But it's not that exciting."
"What is it?" You ask, you weren't really bothered what it was, anything was better than facing home without Harry by your side.
"Well, since all the Avengers, except me, Peter and probably Wanda, think you are a robot then you can't be an Avenger. And because Peter exists, you can't be Spider-Man. So.. you'll have to live as a normal person." Tony suggests.
Normal. Now that was a word you weren't familiar with.
In your whole life, nothing had ever been normal even before Peter's death.
Maybe it would be nice to live a simple life.
But then again, you did want to see Nat again.
"So you can't just tell them the truth?" You sigh.
"No I'm sorry y/n." Tony admits, "They wouldn't be able to handle it."
"Alright." You huff, "I'll take it, I'll be normal."
"There will be boundaries though," Tony replies, turning off the machine, "Rule number one: you won't be able to show your powers, there's only room for one Spider-Man in this reality. Rule number two: you can't be in contact with any avenger besides me, I don't want them thinking I'm a liar or something. Also, they might think you're a psycho robot who escaped death and they might even kill you. Friendly faces like Nat or Steve can turn evil really quickly, I'm telling you that."
"What about Peter? Or Wanda?" You ask, wanting to have at least someone you were already friends with.
"You can talk to Peter if you want." Tony shrugs, "I don't see why not."
"Cool." You reply smiling, glad to have a Peter back in your life again.
"And Wanda you say?" Tony frowns confusedly.
"Yes, she can read minds, she knows I'm not a robot so can we still be friends?" You suggest hopefully.
Tony sighed, "As long as you promise to meet up when there are no other avengers."
"Ok, I promise." You say, crossing your fingers and lifting them up for evidence.
"Don't worry, I'll get you a new identity and things. You can start afresh, live the life you always wanted, conquer your fears and some other crap like that." Tony says carelessly, "You can even have a new name if you'd like."
"I think I'll stick with my own name." You nod solemnly, "But I'll do it. I'll stay."
You were certain on your decision and were honestly quite excited about starting again with life. Maybe this time you could live a good life, a happy one.
"But you have to be sure about this y/n," Tony continues...
"Because after this, there really is no way home."
