This one has only recently started annoying me. Let me explain:
Everything I tweet, now gets questioned. If I tweet about food, one of my friends is three seconds behind asking me why, or where or something that doesn't matter! If I tweet song lyrics that I LIKE they retweet it and then start singing them to me in school, or think they can start to like the band. If I do anything, they copy me.
Its almost like my Individuality is being sucked up Like that hoover from teletubbies, and released into them.
My friends don't have very interesting topics to speak about in school. So lunch drags. All they do is sit on twitter and check each others profiles. That doesn't take very long because most of them boarder on 20- 90 followers. So, they hover on mine. Then complain that I have however many more followers than them, and that these specific people follow me, not them. And it's just painful because I can't particularly turn around and tell them to unfollow me and stop stalking me, because we're supposed to be friends and they take everything to heart.
I have tried blocking them, changing my @, telling them I deactivated but it just doesn't work. The whole reason I don't have an obvious username they could have found me from was because I didn't want them to find me. I didn't want anyone from school to find me. But my problem is, they follow everyone in our year. So, when they rt me, or tweet me, everyone sees it. Now, I took the precaution and pre-blocked everyone. But that hasn't stopped anyone. They have now found my tumblr, and Instagram.
Twitter is one of the main things I don't believe people from school need to follow you on. In general, school and home life should be separate. Just because I attend your school, does not mean I need to allow you to see what I think or enjoy. Especially if this is influencing them to try to steal my interests.
Funny story: there are two girls in my English class who think they are these "oh so tumblr grunge, I hate everyone who breathes, but I'll happily post pictures of me in my hipster glasses and flannels and reblog everything, and put everyone else down" girls. They sit there for the hour talking about tumblr and twitter and which fandom's they're in and how no one can beat their 35 followers, whilst I sit there laughing because I'm winning with my incredibly lovely 16.3k beauties slaying them. Apparently I'm not allowed to like Dan and Phil, flannels, poetry, harry potter, YouTube in general, chokers, shoes, breathing, nirvana or food. Well, fuck you girls, because I like those things. with knobs on. For added effect. I don't think of harry potter in that way. He is a wizard. How dare you.
(Ha.)
My rants are currently not being posted on my twitter profile, because of them. It terrifies me that if i put them out there, they'll follow me on here too. AND I DO NOT NEED THAT. This is the only place I can complain freely, Because in real life everyone tells me to shut up.
I tend to tweet a lot about how shitty school is, and what happened and I could be having a conversation with someone else and they'll pop up with "oh my god, I'm sorry i wasn't there blah blah blah"
NO.
You did not need to comment, you do not need to follow me, you do not need to even have twitter, especially if you can't work it. So, friends. Remove the nirvana lyrics from your bio, And learn who they are. Give me my pictures back, and unfollow me. Stop posting things you think will affect my life, and stop telling people at school things I tweet. Only approach me at school with things that I can genuinely speak to you about. Thank you.
Oh and um, I got my followers from being my usual fabulous self.
Ha no.
I got them by being my geeky, awkward self.
I'll leave my twitter and shit in the... wherever y'all want them. Enjoy this chapter! Hopefully y'all can relate.
