I was sitting at the island of my kitchen while Camilo cooked arepas for me since today is my birthday. I offered to help out but he refused and wanted me to just chill

"How does it feel to finally be 19?" He asks, I shrugged and let out a light laugh, "It feels great..." I say skimming through mail, my eyes widened

"What?" Camilo asked, "A letter from my Mama." I say lifting it up for Camilo to see, I huffed in excitement "she remembered my birthday." I smiled "that's great!" Camilo brought the arepas to the dining table, I came over opening the letter and was astounded by what I read. "Everything okay princesa?" He asked

I furrowed my brows rereading the letter to make sure it really says what it says, "I think so." I answer right when there was a knock at the door "oh, can you?"

Camilo nods, "yeah I got it." He says going to answer the door. "Hi! Is Y/n home?" I hear a feminine voice say

"Whose asking?" Camilo asks, "her sister.." my eyes widened, no fucking way.

Camilo looked over at me, "Y/n.." he trailed, I laugh awkwardly heading over to the door to see.. "Inez?"

I see the slightly shorter girl who I haven't seen in forever with her wavy black hair and light brown eyes with a backpack. "Hola hermana."

We were settled down at the table eating breakfast together after an awkward pause, "these arepas are amazing, you're a good cook Camilo." Inez said

"Thank you Inez." Camilo answered, "so Y/n I didn't know today was your birthday but what better gift today than seeing your sister again?" Inez said cheerfully

"I could think of a couple." I mumbled under my breathe, cleary not quiet enough because Camilo heard me and lightly kicked my foot whilst awkwardly smiling to Inez waiting for me to speak "I mean, of course.. nice seeing you again.. listen Mama wrote me a letter saying you ran away-"

"Oh please don't even get me started, she's been so hard on me already and not the good kind." Inez stated, giving a weak half smile I shrugged, "Okay, but my Papa is still gonna have to tell her you're here."

Inez sighed, "Yeah, I know.. and it's fine. But regardless I'm stoked to be here"

"Just try not to cause any mishap while you're here." I say taking another bite of my arepa, "I'm sure she'll be fine babe." Camilo said gently rubbing my shoulder

Inez waved her hand saying "don't you even worry about it, I've got it under control."

I was at the Madrigal home helping out with decorations they made for my party, trying to enjoy time with them while Papa takes Inez into town to buy everyday essentials.

"Thanks for all of this guys it means a lot." I say, "of course Y/n, you're always helping us out too." Julieta said

Mirabel hugged me from the side, "are you sure you wanna be helping? You're the birthday girl you're not even supposed to be doing any work today" She says, I closed my eyes shaking my head slowly "anything to get my mind off my life right now would be cool."

"I'm guessing it hasn't been so great having Inez around." Dolores says, "What, Camilo told you?" I ask

"No did you forget I hear everything?" Mirabel looked confused "Whose Inez?"

"My younger half sister from Y/c." I say blankly, everyone looks surprised, "that's so cool I didn't know you had a kid sister!" Luisa beamed

"Half sister," I correct "and I never brought her up because I never thought she'd show up at my doorstep out of the blue like that."
