Bonfire

Inez's Pov

While I walked back to the main area of the village with Camilo I tried to maintain my distance from him. I did get quieter and did whatever I could to distract myself, think of anything else, anything but Camilo Madrigal.

"You okay Inez?" Camilo asked, I snapped out of my thoughts, "y-yeah.. im fine.. Hey there's Y/n! You should go talk to her!" I took my shaky hands and put them on Camilo's shoulders trying to push him closer to my sister, but she was still too far away

Camilo moved out of my grasp and focused his eyes on Y/n, "I don't think so, she still looks like she's mad at me for what I said to her after you left.."

"What'd you say to her??" I ask, "long story, but I think she's still hurt."

"Pfft, nothing a little communication can't fix!" I said excitedly running to Y/n, she looked at me with soft eyes walking towards me

"Y/n"

"Inez"

We spoke at the same time, "I'm sorry for everything, the earrings, crashing your birthday party, making you mad, everything."

Y/n breathed out, "No, I'm sorry for everything I said to you. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions about you, you just got here and if you left behind Mama and your Papa there has to be a more logical reason behind it."

I gave a side smile, "I forgive you hermana, I hope you can forgive me too." Y/n smiled and nodded until she looked behind me and her facial expression changed

I look around to see Camilo looking like he wanted to approach her carefully, unsure of what she would do. Y/n only had a blank look on her face before she turned around and walked away as fast as she could, I followed behind her "Hey hey hey Y/n," I took her elbow "he really wants to talk to you.." I say giving her the sad eyes

She huffed "No I just, I can't talk to him right now." She said quietly and practically through her teeth.

Y/n's Pov

We kept walking for miles in the rain, I didn't know where I was going but I figured a walk would clear my head a little more. I did feel really bad about leaving everyone, but suddenly it stopped raining.. guess Pepa got over me.

"I really think you guys should talk things out Y/n. Are you sure you're okay?" Inez said, god why does she care so much?

"mhm, he just said some pretty hurtful stuff Inez, it's gonna take a minute to get over it." I explain walking closer to the side of the path

"Mana, I don't think Camilo meant to hurt you, he loves you.. If I can forgive you for spitting stuff at me while you were mad, can't you forgive him too?"

I stopped in my tracks and finally turned to face her, "I don't think you get it Inez, what he said back there hurt. Until I can get my head straight I don't want attention from anyone-AHHH" as I'm yelling and stepping back I didn't realize I was stepping off the edge of the steep hill, screaming and dragging Inez down with with me.

I shook off any dirt on me, "are you okay?" I ask Inez who got up and dusted herself off "yeah what about you?"

"I'm good but my shoulder hurts a little." I say observing the forest we were now in, then the steep hill we had just fallen down. "Where are we?" Inez whispered

"I don't know but we'd better get out of here, I don't mix well with the wilderness." I say shaking my head desprestly trying to climb back up the steep hill but it was no use.

"Lucky for you, I've got years of rock climbing experience." Inez tisked, "we just need to find a rope and stuff to make a harness with."

I roll my eyes, "yeah cause this place is practically a sports store." Inez just glared and said "Fine, if we start walking maybe we can find the gentle side of the hill.." I groaned getting up. "Fine."

After what felt like forever we didn't find the gentle spot, but we settled one this spot, Inez surprisingly and luckily knows how to make a camp fire. "I'm sorry for everything." She said blankly staring at the fire, "Inez you said that already like 5 times."

Inez didn't take her eyes off the flames, emotions were unknown to the look on her face. "I know." She mumbled, I would ask her what all this strange behavior was about, but we've been through enough tonight.

"Who are you people?" We head a voice ask, both Inez and I jolted up to see a woman holding a basket walking in through the bushes, along with a little girl who I'm guessing is her kid.They don't look like they've been lost for long, or all dirty like us. "We could as the same thing." I say skeptically raising a brow

The woman sighs,"I'm sorry I wasn't expecting to see campers out here tonight in the isolated forest. I'm just gathering some berries for me and my daughter, forgive me girls, my name is Ramona and this is Estrella."

"I'm Inez and this is my sister Y/n, we're also not campers, we're villagers from Encanto.. long story short, we got lost.."

I glared at her for trusting a complete stranger but to my surprise Ramona then said, "oh.. why didn't you just say so? Wait, did you say encanto?"

We nodded, Ramona looked nervous for a moment, "everything okay?" I ask, now she's looking down, with a sad expression. "No yes I'm sorry, everything is fine.. I know that place and I haven't been able to go back."

"Did something happen?" Inez asked, I tried giving her the 'cut it out' signal only for her to ignore me, awaiting for Ramona's response. "Papa?" The little girl mumbled, Ramona placed her basket down and sat down putting her daughter in her lap.

"No Estrella, we don't talk about Papa." She scolded, something looked awfully familiar about little Estrella in the sense of her looking like someone I know. She had black curly locks and green eyes, but with Ramona's lightly tanned skin.

"But yes, something did happen with Estrella's.. P. A. P. A. But don't feel bad, it simply just wasn't meant to be. You see, he grew stressed about his tasks, and I felt hurt and attacked when he blew up on me. All I wanted was for someone to always stand by me not against me.. It was hard for us to see eachother eye to eye, so I left. I didn't want to stay in encanto so I came here.." Ramona explained, maybe it didn't stop raining.. maybe we just couldn't feel it anymore because we must've not realized we left encanto, which also means Dolores can no longer hear us..

She prepared herself to continue, "but everyday I regret not talking to him.. telling him I was pregnant with his baby. I wish I could take it back, but I don't think he wants to see me again, he may have a new lover.. or worse yet, he may have a vision about me lying to him all these years."

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped, Inez and I looked at eachother, then back at Ramona.. "Estrella's father is.."

Ramona wiped her eyes, "Bruno Madrigal."
