[ I just want to point out: Happy 4/13 guys! It's weird to think about how this is the third upd8 I've done in commemoration of this day. First being a random update on The Story of Us, the second being writing this in the first place, and the third being today. Funny how this is the only way I have kept track of my years in the Homestuck fandom.

On another note: if you are looking for anime to watch (and on Netflix) two reallllly good ones I've found are Noragami (which just so happens to be my favorite as of now and I can't explain why) and the another being The Irregular at the Magic High School. Yeah they have FMA, and yeah Black Butler II is on there but hey, I'm just pointing out two that are not given enough praise.]

Rae's POV

Two months later, I was finally allowed to leave the hospital. "Okay, ready to go?" Dirk smiled down at me, his arm extended out to me. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. He wrapped his arms around me and spun me around in circle. I squealed and locked my arms around his neck. "Oh my gosh, of course," I murmured as he set me down on the ground. I pretended to brush something off my shoulder and walked out the door.

He groaned and rushed after me to catch up, "Look at me." I looked up at him, frozen in the doorway. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. "Now what am I supposed to be looking at?" I teased, cupping his face. "Me," He muttered right before he kissed me. I kissed back, trying to hide my blush.

"Mommmm, do you really think Rae is going to be up right now? She is always laying and hiding in her room." I could hear my brother whining from all the way down the hall. I pulled back and glanced back up at Dirk. "Time to go," I whispered, winking at him. He chuckled and kissed me one last time before letting go. My mom walked in along with my younger brother. "Hey Raelynn." My mom grinned, enveloping me in a hug. I groaned, "Mom, let go of me." "Aww sorry honey, it's just I'm so excited to see my little girl after so long. I missed you!" She smiled and tucked a strand of hair back behind my ear. I hadn't seen my mom since right after the accident but even back then, my mom wasn't in shape.

Momma had clearly worried about me. It was obvious in the bags under her eyes, the loss of weight and the fact that were her nails bitten back to the quick. She looked quite unhealthy and to know that my mom completely turned around her life and started caring about us? That made a huge impact in my life.

Part of me decided that it was better if I did continue to speak. However, some of me wanted to stop talking altogether again. There was no need to talk to anyone but Dirk anymore. Jake hadn't bothered to stop by since Christmas Day when Dirk had decided to give me the necklace. Honestly, I didn't quite understand what was going on at all.

Mom stepped back from me and grinned, "So where are you two going?" I glanced at Dirk and he grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Probably just to Kona Grill, I mean it does have the best sushi and I love the fish tanks although we may go to the movies afterwards." I responded, leaning against Dirk's shoulder.

I could understand no one wanted me out of their sigh but sheesh, I'm not going anywhere yet. She nodded and smiled, "Well have fun you two." She winked, handing me my purse. "Love you Rae and be back home before 11 okay?" I nodded and hugged her, "Love you too, Momma and thanks." I responded. Dirk grabbed my hand and walked out the door, "See you later Mrs. Johnson," He said to my mom as we walked past her.

We walked to the elevators in silence. It was almost strange for my mom to actually give a care about my life, but I think it was just her finally waking up for the first time in a long time. It is nice because now I feel like something is actually going right. "So, Kona Grill I hear?" Dirk mused, squeezing my hand. I rolled my eyes, "Shut up," I hit his shoulder, "she would freak if I told her I was going over to your apartment to throw a party." "There is no point, I mean after all, it is a party to celebrate you getting out of the hospital." He kissed my hand.

I rolled my eyes and took my hand away from him. "Yeah, so? She still doesn't like parties. It is just the way she works." He shook his head and opened his mouth to say something but right then the elevator doors opened and I saw Lacie. I squealed and rushed forward, hugging my best friend. "Heyyyy girly," She smiled, hugging me back. Dirk chuckled and walked towards us, his hands in his pockets.

I stepped back, looking up at Dirk. He nodded down at me before looking away. Had I insulted him by running off? I hope not. I smiled and looked at Lacie. "Hey back atcha, what's new?" I asked her. She flipped her hair behind her shoulders. "Oh, you know, my best friend being revived from the dead like in Sleeping Beauty, a party to celebrate it, the usual." She winked. I shoved her away, "Yeah it did not happen like that," I replied.

"Oh sure it did," She did swept her arms out, ready to start exaggerating a story. "Dirk, the total prince he is, one day came in and swept you off your feet," She grabbed Luke and swept him into her arms. Luke fell back into her arms, pretending to swoon. "And he came in and gave you the kiss of life," She paused to kiss Luke. "And like it was true love, man, so it had to happen and just like that, bam, you two fell in love." She set Luke down, snickering. I laughed along with Dirk who shook his head. "We were dating before the accident you know." I giggled. She motioned for me to be quiet, "Shhhh, but that ruins the story, you know?"

I rolled my eyes again and walked towards the entrance. "Guys, let's just go." Dirk caught up. "You ready Rae?" He smirked. "Oh I do think so." I teased him. "How can you be so sure?" "Ohhh, well after all, I was swooned by the impossibly attractive prince and survived that." I winked, kissing his cheek. He chuckled and kissed me on the corner of my mouth. "Love you, Rae." He chuckled again. "And I love you Dirk." Lacie popped up out of nowhere, mimicking my voice. I shoved her away, "Oh shut up," I turned dark red, facing away from everyone.

Luke laughed and wrapped his arms around Lacie, "Oh come on, leave the lovebirds alone." "Come on guys, let's actually get to the party before tomorrow," Dirk spoke up. I grabbed his hand and ran ahead of everyone. "I guess we will just leave those two behind and drive on to the party by ourselves." "OH I DON'T THINK SO! THERE IS NO PARTY THAT I HAVE LEFT UNTURNED!" Lacie shouted, running to catch up. "Hey guys, don't leave me!" Luke pretended to sob.
