2 Months Later...

I Stood In The Kitchen Cooking Dinner As I Used My Grandmother's Recipes. When I Moved Here To Atlanta She Gave Me All Her Recipes And Cookbooks. And I Cherish Every One Of Them. I Use Them Every Chance I Get.

I Allowed Kenny To Pick One Dish Out Of Each One Of Her Hand Written Recipes. I Was Making Pot Roast, Carrots, Potatoes, Collard Greens, Broccoli And Rice Casserole, Corn Bread And A Blueberry Cobbler. I Already Had Everything Cooking And I Had To Put The Cobbler In The Oven With The Bread. My Phone Rung And Rushed Over To It. I Grabbed It Off The Hook And Placed It To My Ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey Alana Honey. How Are You?" My Grandmother Asked.

"Hi Granny. I'm Good. How Are You And Papa Allen?" I Asked.

"We're Good. We Wanted To Check On You. How Are You Liking The New House?"

"I Love It. I Haven't Had One Problem Since I've Been Here. Its Very Peaceful. Its In A Nice Neighborhood." I Told Her.

"Well That's Nice To Hear. Have You Talked To Your Father Today?" She Asked.

"Yes Ma'am. He's Doing Good."

"His Tramp Is Up Here Getting On My Nerves. You Know She Had The Nerves To Just Walk In My House The Other Day?"

"Umm Granny, You Know Dad Probably Sent Her Over There. With The Key." I Reminded.

"So? But We Don't Have To Worry About That No More. I Changed The Locks And Ordered Them Guards Not To Let Her In." She Snapped.

My Grandmother HATED My Dad's Girlfriend Maria. I Couldn't Necessarily Blame Granny. I Don't Like Her Either. However, I Still Try To Respect Maria.

"Granny."

"What She Need To Be Here For? She Not Married To My Son. I Don't Even Want To Hear Her Name. She Ain't Nothing Like Teresa." She Fussed.

Of Course Granny Wants My Mother And Father To Get Back Together. She Loves And Adores My Mother. She Nearly Killed My Father When They Divorced.

"Alana, Are You There?"

"Yeah. I'm Here. What'd You Say?"

"Are You Cooking That Meal For Kenny?" She Asked.

"Yes Ma'am."

"What You Making Him?"

"Pot Roast, Carrots, Potatoes, Collard Greens, Broccoli And Rice Casserole, Corn Bread And Blueberry Cobbler."

"He Gone Get Down On One Knee Soon. Remember To Wear One Of Your Sexiest Black Dresses And Heels. Have Your Hair All Done And Pretty. A Little Makeup If You Want. And Give Him A Good Time. Make Sure Your Dress Shows A Lot Of Skin." She Coached.

If I Didn't Know Any Better I'd Think She Wanted Me To Dress Like A Whore.

"Yes Granny." I Nodded.

"Wear Some Of The Jewelry I Gave You. Them Beautiful Diamond Earrings I Gifted You On Christmas, That Diamond Drop Necklace And A Diamond Bracelet." She Told Me.

I'm So Glad My Grandmother Is A Fashion Designer. I Can Always Count On Her To Have Me Looking Good.

"Yes Ma'am."

"And When The Night's Over With, You Take Him Upstairs And Give Him A Even Better Time." She Said.

Trust Me I Was Gonna Do That Anyway.

"Bye Granny I'm Not About To Play With You. Give Papa Allen A Hug For Me." I Laughed.

"I Will. I Love You."

"I Love You Too Bye." I Hung Up.

I Finished Placing The Cobbler In The Oven And Went Upstairs. I Took A Shower And Moisturized My Body. I Curled My Hair And Did My Makeup. I Got Dressed And Put On My Heels. I Went Downstairs And Set The Table. I Lit Some Candles And Dimmed The Lights. I Turned On Music And Marvin Gaye's Lets Get It On Started. My Phone Rung Again And I Answered.

"Hello?" I Answered.

"Who You Answering The Phone Like That For?" Mom Asked.

"No One Mom. What's Up? I'm Kinda Busy Right Now."

"Well, I Only Wanted To Talk. Call Me Later Ms. Busy. I Love You." She Said.

"I Love You Too Mom." I Blew A Kiss And Hung Up.

An Hour Later...

"Damn Baby You Look Good." He Hugged Me.

He Smelled So Good. He Wore A Black Suit With A White Shirt. He Was Fine Without Even Trying.

"Thank You. You Look Good Too." I Smiled.

Alana...

"I Try

"I Try." He Smiled Back.

We Went Into The Dining Room And He Sat Down. I Fixed His Plate For Him And Placed It In Front Of Him.

"This Looks Good." He Told Me.

"Thank You."

I Poured Him A Glass Of Wine And Fixed My Plate As Well. We Prayed Over Our Food And Started To Eat.

"How Was Your Day?" I Asked.

"It Was Good. I Finished The Song I Was Working On. Now I Just Need To Find The Person For It."

"I'm Happy For You Babe." I Smiled.

I Really Was. He'd Been Wanting To Finish This Song For Months. I Know That's A Great Relief Off His Shoulders.

"Thanks."

We Finished Our Dinner And I Brung Out Dessert. I Was Kinda Scared To Taste It. It Was My First Time Making Cobbler And I Was Nervous.

"You Surprise Me With Your Cooking Every Time."

"That Means A Lot." I Nodded With A Small Smile.

We Both Finished Our Cobbler And I Took Our Plates Into The Kitchen. I Started Up The Dishwasher And Went Into The Living Room.

"I'm About To Go Upstairs For A Few Minutes. I'll Be Right Back." I Smiled At Him.

"Alright." He Nodded.

I Went To My Room And Changed Into Some Blue Lingerie I Brought Last Week. I Looked In The Mirror And I Did Look Good. I Put On The Heels And Robe To Match. I Can't Believe I'm About To Do This. I Walked Out My Room As I Closed My Robe. I Went Down The Hall And Made Sure Everything Was All Set. I Stopped By The Mini Bar And Took A Quick Shot. I Needed It To Calm Down. I Went Into The Living Room And Seen Ken Looking At TV. I Walked Over To Him And Rubbed His Shoulders.

"Turn This Off And Come Upstairs With Me." I Kissed His Cheek.

He Turned The TV Off And Stood Up. I Led Him Upstairs And Walked Into The Room At The End Of The Hall.
