Romanogers - What if... nat returned from the dead?

Time skip

Nat and Steve had been dating for about here months now. they were taking things slow and were both really happy. No one knew yet.

This specific night Nat woke up with another nightmare. She opened her eyes, uncuffed the cuffs holding her against the bed (she couldn't sleep without them since she never did for the first 15 years of her life, at least the first ones that she remembered). She got up and went to the rooftop, as she always did. She sat on the edge of the roof and started writing just random stupid little phrases, until, before she realized she had written an entire page.

She went down to her room and grabbed her guitar and went back up, deciding to transform whatever she wrote into a song or something of the sords. She started with a simple melody and started singing what she wrote

A/N: wait for the lines:

"Across the water, across the deep blue ocean/Under the open sky" --> His eyes. Oh, his eyes! His beautiful baby blue eyes. She felt like she could drown on them...

"I hear you in my dreams/I feel your whisper across the sea" --> it's true, he was always there when she closed her eyes"

"You make it easier when life gets hard" --> the most truthful sentences so far. He saved her from the darkness so many times she couldn't even keep count anymore. he saved her a little bit everyday

"Lucky I'm in love with my best friend" --> Oh, and how lucky was she... 

He was her friend, her love, her home.

"They don't know how long it takes / Waiting for a love like this" --> she never thought, in a million years she would be lucky enough to be loved by him, and to love so intensely

"Move so pretty you're all I see / As the world keeps spinning round / You hold me right here right now" – she smiles

She writes it down on the top of the page:

S: Can you play that again?

N: OH MY GOD! You SCARED me STEEEVEE

S: Really? I startled the unshakable Black Widow? (a/n: is there a world for like not startleble?? unstartleble??)

N: YES! I could have fallen Steve! You don't startle someone sitting on a parapet!!!

S: I startled YOU!! I STARTLED you!! Gosh I've never been so proud of myself!!

N: DUMBASS

He smiles and gives her a peck. She smiles back

S: What you doing up?

N: What are you doing up?

S: Nightmares, and then I heard someone getting aa guitar from the room next to mine... (super soldier hearing) Figured it was my girl – "My girl". She could die right there; her life was complete – You had nightmares too?

N: Yep

S: Wanna talk about it?

N: Not really. It wasn't anything new

S: Ok. – he pauses. He wanted her to open up to him, but he also wanted to give her space. – Seriously though, can you play that again?

N: How much did you hear?

S: Not much. But it was BEAUTIFUL

N: Ok – and she played again

S: WOW. W.O.W.

N: That good?

S: AMAZING. Whoever wrote that is a genius.

N: Is that so? Tell me more – she smiled. He was so sweet and so oblivious

S: I mean. The way they talk about love, like they are really feeling it, you know?

N: Yeah, I think I do

S: I mean, it's no Frank Sinatra, but it's absolutely beautiful... Who wrote that?

N: I did.

S: WhAt?

N: I was bored and couldn't go back to sleep. So I started writing... - she said, shaking her shoulder, like it was no big deal

S: You just wrote that? You just wrote that.

N: Uhum

S: You are full of surprises Natasha Romanoff. Can you be any less perfect?? – she laughed

N: Look who's talking. It's about you, you know. So, if anything, you are responsible for like 47% of this

He kissed her again. A more powerful kiss now, filled with emotions.

S: Every day I fall a little more for you

N: You are such a dork Rogers

S: Maybe, but I'm your dork

N: That you are

She continued to play, this time she decided to go with a bit of Sinatra to please him. He sat down, enjoying the show, and taking advantage of the moon reflecting on her face to draw her. They stayed there for hours and watched the sun rise together.
